We visited this area to see birds, hike, and explore the outdoors. This home is in a great location with very little road or other human noise, wonderful birds all around, and close access to the Gila River, Cliff Dwellings and hiking. It had everything we needed to cook/eat, sleep comfortably, relax on the deck, play cards and relax.
It was wonderful to see the deer and javalina waltz by the window. The house was a great location next to Doc's, so it was convenient to run over and grab some ice cream. Patrice was very helpful and kind.
The place was homey and comfy, quiet and in a wonderful location. The house rules were thorough and clear. Everything we needed was there, especially for cooking -- Patrice warned us to bring all the food we would need. She also made a fire to warm the house before we arrived, which was very nice. The next morning, she took the time to show me how to use the woodstove (I hadn't used one for many years).Patrice was very communicative, before and during our stay -- both proactive and responsive. This was our first trip to the Gila, and she came to the house our first morning and shared her deep knowledge of good trails for dayhiking. The house was already filled with hiking and nature guides and maps, and she brought us another hiking guide for us to use. We took her advice and had wonderful hikes.
