A charming "barndominium" style retreat tucked away in a quiet, private, beautiful natural setting overlooking the Salt Fork of the Red River valley, and just a short walk from Greenbelt Lake.
Perfect for families, couples and those wanting to hide away from the world and re-connect with nature in a pristine Texas prairie setting!
Cozy and comfy. Nice patio with two seating areas and an electric grill. And those stars at night!! Please come enjoy the Hideout! Note: We do have a Blink securty camera at the driveway entrance only. It is for security purposes and we do not monitor it. We take our guest’s privacy very seriously.

Newlyweds

Very unique and wonderful place to stay. The location is tucked away from the main road but once you arrive and enter the house, you will be amazed at how beautifully designed and put together it is. The house is an open layout with beautiful furniture and lighting throughout. In addition to the wonderful house, the homeowners were amazing with promptly responding to messages and left some cookies out for our arrival. Overall we give this a 10/10 rating for our experience. If we are in this area in the future or know someone else who will be, this destination will be our first choice and we would recommend this property for anyone else who is interested!

Peaceful

We really enjoyed our stay at the Roost. Directions were spot on, the cookies left for us were fantastic. Communication with the host's was great. The Roost is very unique with great decorations. It was very clean, well stocked. Most of all we enjoyed the peace and quiet, wildlife and THE STARS! Wish we could have done more exploring in the area, but we were there for only a short while.

Wonderful Getaway!!

My wife and I needed a little escape to recuperate and reconnect after the holidays, and we could not be happier with our stay! The Hideout is tastefully decorated (very comfortable and cozy), private, beautiful views, and provided for all of our needs. We were even greeted with a plate full of homemade cookies!! Truly met and exceeded all of our expectations!!

Relax and Reset

Perfect place to just reset life. Quiet, relaxing and just all around peaceful. Great communication with owners if needed. Very cute decor. My heart didn't want to leave.

Hey y'all! We're Nik and Dusty Green, executive producers and hosts of the PBS travel show "Two for the Road," and founders of the Saints Roost Expedition Company. And we're thrilled to share our precious little corner of Texas with you!

We were both born and raised here in the Panhandle, and have lived here in the little town of Howardwick by Greenbelt Lake for several years now. And when we're not out traveling the world for the show, this is where we come back to get away from it all, to get back to nature, and to get back to center. We love it here! And we sure think you will too.

It's a really small town of course so you may very well see us around, but we know how most travelers value their privacy - so we won't bug you once you get here. Unless of course you need anything, you'd like to book one of our tours, or would just like to chat for a spell. We'd love to meet you, and we'll be available anytime!

If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is for you! You'll likely have deer come up to visit and the stars at night are unbelievable! Secluded and super cozy! We're also about an hour from Palo Duro Canyon and Caprock Canyons and highly recommend a visit to both parks!
