Amenities and location were absolute highlights. Never a dull moment with our group of 19. The indoor pickleball and basketball court was a focal point. Kids also hosted game nights in the basement.
Everything was perfect for our group of 17 adults. The pool area was outstanding. we enjoyed the boat and the golf cart was a life saver. David met us on arrival and showed us around the house and property. plentyof supplies.

The deck next to the jacuzzi is broken and feels unsafe. The stairs leading down to the lake are loose and very unsafe. Inside the house, there is a strong moldy/musty smell. The pool table surface is damaged, and the electronic arcade game does not work. Many items in the backyard are also not usable.I hope the owner can repair and maintain the property better for future guests.

Dear Phoebe,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay, particularly with the pool heating. Unfortunately, the temperatures dropped to 20 which significantly affected our ability to heat the pool properly. We strive to prepare everything in advance and typically request a seven-day notice to ensure that the pool can be adequately heated for our guests. Regrettably, we were unable to meet your needs on this occasion, and we understand how this impacted your overall experience.
We also appreciate your patience regarding the repairs to the deck next to the Jacuzzi. We want to assure you that we are actively addressing this and other maintenance concerns, including the loose stair. Although the stairs were replaced a year ago, we value your feedback about the loose stair and are taking immediate action to fix it. We take great pride in our property, and it’s essential to us that it remains safe and enjoyable for all our guests.
Regarding the mold and mildew smell you mentioned, this is the first we’ve been made aware of it. The pool table was recently refelted and we were unable to find any damage during our inspection. The Golden Tee arcade game was shut off and we explained at check in not turn off during their stay. Doing so requires a reboot by our team. We have been adding new and improved amenities that do require construction. We are almost at the end with just 2 more months.
This s property has a lot of potential and the owner has a great vision for what the property could be. The current house use and grounds need a little TLC, but the additions make the property have amazing potential! It is secluded which is so nice. The sleeping arrangements need a little more clarity, but having multiple places to prepare meals is so nice for multiple families. Love Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge!!
We had 26 people and had plenty of room. The house has 2 complete kitchens which was a plus. The pool and outdoor kitchen were not an easy walk very steep slope but thankfully the owner provided a golf cart to get down to the area. Has quite a bit of construction going on around the pool and outdoor kitchen area but it didn’t interfere much. All in all we had a great time.
Great vacation place for large crowd. Loved having the well equipped outdoor kitchen, the amazing covered pickleball court, lovely pool and waterfall. Having the outdoor tv along with karaoke was lots of fun! The two indoor kitchens made it possible to store food, drinks etc and cook inside if necessary for a large crowd. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. It was great to have the pontoon to enjoy the lake. Golf cart was such a help and definitely necessary. This quiet remote getaway was perfect for our crowd. David was easily available and super easy to work with.

Our annual work trip and this house was perfect! Each family had their own space and bathroom. Plenty of activities onsite and seating for everyone.
This was our second time to the property and Dave has added to the property and making more improvements.
Wonderful home for a large family vacation. Something for everyone to do. Short drive to trails, waterfalls and Helen. Rent the boat for your stay, it is worth every penny!
Fun location, easy access to town, property could use a ton of maintenance

Glad you and yours had a wonderful time! And we are on top of it... It does take a lot of time to maintain this property but we’re successful in ensuring our guests have a safe and sanitized getaway. You mentioned the light bulbs being out when we had actually just changed them before your arrival. Maybe you didn’t receive my message about how to turn them ALL on, switch first then chain.
We absolutely loved staying here. Large enough to comfortably hold 12 adults and 6 children. Tons of activities to keep everyone entertained. Great location close to lots of hiking trails and outdoor activities.

We are so glad you had a great time and especially enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and pedal boating. We look forward to your next trip and thank you for choosing Bend of the River!
Our large, extended family had plenty of room and so much to do with all of the extra amenities offered. The eleven children ages 2 to 12 were never bored. The lake is lovely and we really enjoyed renting the pontoon boat. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

Thanksgiving with family
The house worked out great for our multi generation family. The two kitchens were great and met our needs. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplaces. Dave was great to work with and was available to answer any questions. It was a very cold weekend but some of our family used the pickleball court. We would definitely stay again
All of my siblings and their families got together for a long weekend at the lake. The house had everything we needed for kids and family fun, and the way the house is set up, it made it perfect so that each family had their own little area of bedrooms. Really great fun.
