The property grounds were well taken care of and such a peaceful setting. The kids loved fishing on the lake and we had plenty of room inside the house to not be on top of each other. Very pretty house, and easy to get to!
Spacious, well stocked, exceptionally clean, lots of fun things to do or not do (like naps or just sitting in the shade) and adventures for the grandkids. Lots of fun, had during hot summer days, looking forward to visiting in the fall sometime.
My family and I enjoyed a nice summer retreat for a couple of days to relax! Rock House Retreat was a great place for all of us to gather together! So much space and activities to keep us all busy! Would definitely recommend this place for large family get togethers. Plenty of room for everyone!
This was our first family that we were able to all get together at one tube we enjoyed every moment from arrival to departure the lake to the games just all over the atmosphere was amazing our host was great and made sure my family was taken care of thank you all so much we will be back
The house was perfect for my family. Beautiful house with great accommodations. The little kids loved being able to run around outside and they even caught some little fish.
We enjoyed our stay, the house had plenty of room for the 12 of us. It was clean and had some supplies. Just wish we had more time to spend at the house to enjoy it.
We had all of our children and grandchildren. It was a great time had by all. Facilities were great and the games, boats, hiking trails, and lake, all made it worthwhile. Well done!
This trip was our annual vacation with our family that brings my brother and his family and our family to a spot to spend a week together since we live several states apart. House and property were amazing and perfect. Amazing accommodations and house has anything you could think of … for us it did at least. Loved being out in the country!
Wonderful place to make memories. Made Smores in the fire pit. We fished in the stocked pond twice. Canoed/kayaked twice. Many wooded area adventures. Well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay! Great for a large family gathering. The host was fantastic and checked in occasionally via email to make sure we had everything we needed. Would love to go again!
Beautiful property. House was very stocked with various items for use. Pond was awesome. Kids loved playing and kayaking in it. Only disappointment was that the temperature in the upstairs bedroom was too warm for our comfort. But, it was a hot weekend when we we're there. Also, not use to well water and it had a very strong odor. But, bottled drinking water was supplied. Wonderful place for a secluded getaway for our large family from 1 to 75 years of age.
Our family of 9 adults had a fabulous time. Everything was exactly as described. Beautiful property and beautiful home. Very spacious--just first-rate. We LOVED it. I wanted to book again over the holidays but it isn't available but it will be a place I'll always look to book when our family gathers!
We had an amazing long weekend at the Rock House Retreat. We were in the area to visit University of Central Missouri, and staying at this home was a wonderful treat. Everything we could have needed was provided, and it had plenty of room for our large family. We enjoyed fishing and taking the kayaks out on the lake, and we even enjoyed a fire in the firepit at night. We're from a busy city area, so the quiet location was refreshing. We could not have asked for a nicer weekend!
The house is exactly as listed. From the lake with canoes and fishing to the fire pit surrounded by mature tree canopy with outdoor string lights, there was a lot to do for all ages! Daniel was a great host, answering all our questions timely. The kitchen was nicely equipped. Overall, the house had plenty of room for our group of 10 and everyone enjoyed the stay.
I rented this property for a week away with friends, we had lots of kids along and they all had a blast as well as the parents, Daniel was very accommodating and helpful with any questions or asks and he always responded quickly. The house was well stocked with extra bedding, cleaning supplies, and activities to keep our stay stress free, there was a town within a half hour for any last minute shopping trips, but it felt very secluded and private to get a break from the busyness of life. Would definitely come back again.
The Rock House Retreat is the perfect place to stay near Warrensburg, Sedalia and Kansas City. It is a quiet place to relax in the country. The only thing you need to bring are your clothes, groceries and personal items. Everything else is provided. There were 10 family members who came to visit our son who lives in Nebraska. The Rock House Retreat had plenty of room for all of us to sit and visit. The kitchen is very well stocked with essentials (the stainless steel pots and pans, baking dishes, silverware, plates, glasses and cooking utensils are top notch). There were plenty of towels for all of us. The house was very clean and organized. The kitchen cabinets have stickers on them to let you know what is in each cabinet. We loved to hike the woods and around the lake looking for wildlife. Inside we designated one table as the puzzle table so we didn't have to move the puzzles being put together when we ate at the main table. There are plenty of outdoor activities including hiking the trails, fishing in the lake, kayaking, outdoor games, and a fire pit. Indoor activities include puzzles, coloring books and color pencils, and all kinds of board games for all ages. We would highly recommend the Rock House Retreat for anyone visiting the area near Kansas City. It was a fantastic stay.
This property is magical. It truly felt like a stay in someone's beautiful home. The house was tastefully decorated, comfortable, spacious and ... just felt like home. We kept commenting how clean and tidy everything was; and everything was discretely labeled for convenience (but not so much as to take away from the feel of the home). But aside from the home, the property is magnificent. From the pond to the firepit to the screened-in porch to the deer around every evening and morning, it was all one could ask for. The owners have thought of everything! Additionally, we checked in on a day the entire VRBO system was down. The owners communicated with us in a timely manner and ensured we had sign-in information even though the site was down. They were incredibly kind and professional. I have never had a better experience with a VRBO property. I cannot wait to return!
This was an amazing property. They had enough beds for all 14 of us which was very important. It felt very spacious and clean. The property is also very nice with lots of activities that we wish we had more time to explore and try them all! Would definitely stay here again.
Incredible property; very clean, spacious, and remote - yet still close to Warrensburg and/or Clinton. Lots of outdoor activities; including walking trails, etc. Hosts were friendly and responsive.
