Renting this cottage almost ruined our weekend. We drove 6 hours to stay at this cottage and to visit the island with another family, only to walk into a mouldy, smelly, grease covered house. We are not picky people, but breathing mould and sleeping on rotting mattresses is not our idea of a getaway, especially with two families with small children. To make matters worst, it was 11 pm by the time we arrived on a Friday of a long weekend, after stopping to get cleaning supplies and trying to deal with Vrbo, there were no other options available for being relocated, as everything was booked up. We ended up sleeping in our other party's cottage. Our husbands slept in the car and we slept on couches and floor with the kids. We were lucky to find other accommodations for ourselves the following morning, at an amazing resort, after Vrbo failed to relocate us. So both Vrbo and this property get major thumbs down from us. I can't believe that there is not a better vetting process to prevent places like this one to be rented to people.
