This is an authentic Federal/Greek Revival farm house. You will have full access to the whole house, which has 3 furnished bedrooms. Entertain yourself with board games in the living room, cooking in the kitchen and conversation over dinner in the dining room . Explore the large scenic yard, relax with a drink, birdwatch and admire the deer that often roam around in the afternoons.

Great stay in a beautiful home. Beds are very comfortable and showers have great pressure. Definitely a great spot for visiting the Black Belt, Rural Studio, or anywhere in Hale & Perry Counties! Will be back for sure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic home! It was really cool to stay in a home that has so much history. Because this is an old home, and out in the country, this home is clean, but due to the age of the cabinets and windows and such, it wasn't as clean as a five star resort in some big city - but it certainly felt like home! Although there is no TV and wifi is not strong in all areas of the house, we had a great time playing cards together and laughing together. Our stay was short and we had quite a bit of rain, so we didn't explore the property like we had planned. There was a ton of room for the 5 of us and I thought we would probably hear my parents snoring in the downstairs bedroom with us being in the upstairs bedroom and we didn't hear a sound. Lol! Beds are comfortable and communication with Cooper was so easy. We chose this home to stay in because of it's history, how close it is to Marion (we were in town for MMI's SAP convocation ceremony), and that it enabled my parents to stay in one place with us. I'd highly recommend staying here -- just be prepared -- you will unplug and spend hours talking to and laughing and connecting with your loved ones...definitely one of the highlights of our stay!

Highly recommend for anyone that appreciates history and architecture.

Staying at this historic house was a delightful experience. The location was ideal for a quiet getaway in driving distance of Tuscaloosa. The hosts were very welcoming. If we are back in the area, we will stay at this historic plantation home again.Overall, it was a memorable experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique getaway.

Country travel

The interior of the house is beautiful, historical and welcoming. The historical dating of the house and its decor gave my companions and myself excellent conversation about the original home owners. I suggest a deep visual inspection by the current owners of the cleanliness of the showers. Other than the shower issues, we were safe and comfortable on this historic property.

Quiet and Tranquil

I’ve stayed with Cooper a number of times and it’s always a pleasure. I enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of life these days. The farmhouse gives me a place to disconnect, relax, and refresh. I’ll be back.

Hosnt was very responsive to messages. House was quaint and clean and would have been perfect if not for the infestation of asian beetles. Lady bugs dont normally bother me but when they are swarming in droves above the bed and falling into bed with you at night, it can be disconcerting. They were in everyroom, in the bathrooms, falling out of the toilet paper rolls, inside the bed and pillow cases, inside the shower, swarming around the bathroom sink. It wasnt the host's fault though....these bugs are everywhere down south right now. I thought the host would have knocked some of the price off the cost of the stay but he didn't. That said, he was very upfront with us before we arrived and told us about the bugs. I just had no idea how bad they really were. Oh well...It made for an exciting night and a memory we will not forget :) For future guests, I dont think these asian beetles will still be there. However, if the host warns you in advance about bugs...take heed and look for somewhere else to stay. Problem for us..there wasn't anywhere else to stay that night. Every other VRBO and Bed and Breakfast was booked in this rural area. We would have had to drive an hour away to get a room...thus, we chose to live with the lady bugs.

Marion Military Graduation Weekend

We had a great stay at the historic home and loved all that it offered. It was conveniently located just outside of town, approximately 8 minutes from the school and on a beautiful plantation. We traveled the day before graduation arriving a little early therefore we took full advantage of walking the plantation and learning about its history. That night to pass the time, we played dominoes and card games and we enjoyed lots of quality family conversation. On Saturday, we attended my son's graduation from MMI. We will definitely stay here again when we travel back for alumni weekend. ❤️

The house is adorable and charming. However, there is no Wifi and Verizon does not work. We had no Internet access or cell service. Unfortunately, we were not there to "unplug", or it would have been great for that! Also, the kitchen was a little sparse as far as cooking items, and it wasn't very clean. We did want to cook a couple of meals, and the dishes and pots/pans had to be washed before use. According to the owner/manager, the house is a country house that is not frequented much as far as visitors, so I think it was a little dusty and dirty, and I gave that feedback. Also, we drove in late at night and the front of the house as pictured in the photos is not what you see when you drive in. The front door of the house is not really the entrance to the property, so that is a little confusing at first. If the house were cleaner and I didn't care about Internet access, it really is a cute country house to stay in.
