About this property
Pristine 4-Bd HVL/Flat Rock Retreat w/ Stream on 2 Acres
SUPPORT the HVL/Flat Rock community as they get back on their feet! We have quickly cleaned up our grounds and property from the Hurricane Helene damage, and luckily our home was spared from any damage. We are eager to host guests who will support local businesses, orchards, restaurants, shops, breweries, etc. as they have missed out on their busiest time of year for tourism and revenue.
Escape with family and friends at this beautiful, newly furnished home on a unique & special setting in the NC mountains with a stream, bridges, and plenty of porch & deck space. Feel secluded among beautiful trees and gardens just minutes to downtown Hendersonville & Flat Rock & a stones throw from amazing hiking, biking, golf, & other towns. Fully conditioned garage includes game room & office space.
The home & space:
We searched for years to strike the balance between easy access to surrounding towns and activities, while also feeling secluded and private. It was critical to have easy, year round access, proximity to stores, restaurants, and activities, and great phone and internet service. But we also wanted to feel tucked away in our own world. We finally found the sweet spot with 2 lushly wooded acres and a stream, but positioned within minutes of downtown Hendersonville and Flat Rock, with a short drives to Asheville, The Biltmore, Brevard, and Saluda.
The house has so many amenities for your enjoyment. Relax on the front or back porches or inside by the fireplace. Make dinner for a crowd on the provided gas grill or an all star breakfast on the new Blackstone Griddle. Step into the finished garage and stir up some friendly competition with a table tennis or foosball tournament. Wade in the stream and catch crawdads, pan for gems and minerals, or lounge in the hammock for an afternoon nap as the water trickles by. Finish the day with s’mores in the fire pit (wood provided!).
The home is equipped with a newly-installed Electric Vehicle (EV) charger with J1772 plug. See pictures to note details and compatibility.
Other things to note:
You’re in nature - so be aware of your surroundings! We love to play by the stream and explore behind the home, but snakes may be in the area, so explore carefully. Additionally, ( though we have not seen any to this point) bears are known to inhabit this area of NC.
We allow two pets per reservation with a $100 fee per pet. Consideration for multiple pets will be given with additional fees. Please indicate your pet’s breed and size when inquiring.
Your rental is accessed by a keyless door code for ease of entry, and allows for a zero-interaction check-in/check-out process. A door code specific to each guests’ stay will be provided the day prior to your check-in. If you have any questions about directions or access to the property, just ask!
We have seen too many investor-driven website hosts with generic and impersonal property manager communication. This is our personal mountain getaway that we get to share with you using with help from our cleaning manager, Jessica, and our gardener and ecologist, Anders (Andy). Get genuine recommendations and info from hosts who enjoy staying there as much as you do.

About the host

We live in the Charleston, SC area just 3.5 hours down the road. We love sharing our special home with those looking to enjoy Hendersonville/Flat Rock/Brevard as much as we have over the past 10 years.
Why they chose this property
We searched for years to strike the balance between easy access to surrounding towns and activities, while also feeling secluded and private. It was critical to have easy, year round access, proximity to stores, restaurants, and activities, and great phone and internet service. But we also wanted to feel tucked away in our own world. We love the serene setting of the home and all the adventures the creek, landscape, game room, and home provide while being close to so many wonderful activities in the nearby towns.
