House on Town Square-experience an early 1800s house and all of its charm!
This early 1800s original home right in the square of town will give you a memorable stay! 20 minutes to Hershey, Lebanon and Harrisburg. The three bedroom home sleeps up to 6 people. Walking distance to the local coffee shop, ice cream shop, community park and local rail trail. This house has been restored to its former glory. It has its fun quirks as all older homes do which I hope you find charming! The floors might creak or be unlevel from all its years of life being lived on them. The stairs to the second floor are very steep and narrow. You might have trouble with them if you have mobility issues. The stairs are original so they were just built to fit in the space. The 3, very spacious bedrooms are all upstairs. The two front bedrooms have full sized beds, and the rear bedroom has two twin beds. The living room has a roku smart tv and there is WiFi throughout the house. There’s a full dining room off the kitchen and a bar table for seating in the office. The house sits right on the Main Street in our small town so expect to hear street noise at times.

We absolutely loved this house!!! The cleanliness was unbelievable!! As was the historical character!! (My husband wants the George Washington picture! And my oldest son has totally researched the house! Personally I want your sofa!!) We stayed here for the weekend to go to Hershey Park - we will DEFINITELY be back again!! Thanks for making it so warm and inviting!!
It was great place to stay, quite and calm neighborhood, the stairs like others have said are narrow but that is expected with an older historical home. It was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks again for the stay.
Our stay was great. The house has incredible character, which we loved. The location was perfect for our trips to Hershey Park and other attractions in the area.
We came here for long weekend trip. The house was very clean, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The town was very nice. A lot of convinces within walking distance. There is wonderful hiking around the area.
My friends and I had a great stay at this home. It is an incredibly unique home. We had fun exploring the rooms and creating stories for the characters throughout. The home had all the amenities we needed for the weekend stay, and having the local businesses close by (driving or walking) was great. Would certainly book this location again!
We loved this neat house full of fun personality and history! Staying with kids and teens is fun because of the fun stories you can create with the old photos. We were able to watch the smart TV after a wonderful long walk on the trails through the town and see beautiful wildlife! We went to the local coffee shop both days for delicious coffee and treats!! Quick trip to Hershey for fun too! Excellent host and communication!
The stay was great friendly and very homey place comfortable the stair were a little skinny but that comes with an older place my brothers and i really enjoy our stay
My out of town daughters and granddaughters stayed with me in this home to have a little more space for a long weekend. Staying in such an old house definately made our weekend more fun and interesting. The house is wonderful with all its quirky features. The host was great as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We chose this place for the proximity to where we were visiting and for its history. Trust the reviews commenting on the quirkiness and the crazy stairs. The house is really old and it shows in every room from the old closed off fireplaces to the creaky floors and super steep stairs. Not sure if it’s haunted but there were a couple questionable things that happened that made us wonder. The only complaint, if you want to call it that, was the house could have been a bit more clean in some areas, but nothing we were too concerned about.
Place is cute and overall good but old and creaky and has its quirk(old tub/shower). My family and i enjoyed staying here bc of the space we had to ourselves compared to hotels/motels. It's a 25 min drive to Hershey World. It's set on a main st so sometimes car/motorcycles speed by with excessive noise and engine rev'ing. Communication was good but could always be better. Again, overall good experience.
We stayed at this house for a weekend while our son was playing a baseball tournament in the Hershey area. It’s definitely a quirky old house that takes you back in time. There are lots of neat historical touches in the house and we had fun exploring it. Definitely not a place for anyone with physical challenges as the stairs and the bathroom are not disability friendly. The location is great with a nice coffee shop right across the street and a grocery store a good pizza place just down the road. Parking was also a plus with spots right in front.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Misrepresented unclean and stressful stay
I’m honestly shocked this property has such high ratings, because our experience was the complete opposite. The reviews claimed the house was “very clean” and “comfortable,” with a 9 out of 10 star rating. That was absolutely not the case.I think the decor was supposed to reflect the home’s history, but it ended up feeling uncomfortable and a bit eerie. This place was nothing like the listing. The front door had cracks in the glass which felt unsafe. It smelled like cigarette smoke trying to be covered up. We sprayed Lysol, wiped everything down and it still stank. The chairs were dirty we had to lay a towel or trash bag down first before sitting. There were no closets to hang our clothes, which was a big issue since we were in town for a convention. The stairs were dangerously steep, one step felt like it might collapse. No kitchen light, dirty blinds in the bathroom that wouldn’t close, and a stained dirty chair in there too. The tub was dirty I had to buy cleaner to spray it before using and I still had to wear flip-flops to shower. We were so uncomfortable, we had to leave early. It completely stressed us out. We had to rush back on our lunch break to pack, and ended up commuting two hours a day just to make the convention work. Not only was it unclean it’s poorly maintained.I hope this review will help the next person avoid the stress we went through.
It was everything our family hoped it would be. We saw the age and history through the photos and it was better in person. Built in 1800 it brought you back to when times were simple but with updated more modern features. Updated washer and dryer. Bathrooms were great. Beds were comfortable. Tv had roku so we could log in to our streaming apps on a rainy night. We loved the character of the place. Stairs were a challenge with our big feet but i wouldn’t change them. I would add a tablecloth to dining room table since you can't put anything on it without it leaving a mqrk.we recommend staying here and would stay again when we are in the area. Host responded and communicated well.
Everything was great in the house! What you would expect in a much older home. It was clean and comfortable. Location was great because i was raised on a farm just outside of town. So we had a lot of family/friends to visit so the location was perfect.
Host, Kim was very nice and always got right back to us with any inquiries we had.
The bathtub would be the biggest we downfall of the house. The claw tub was nice, but when showering there wasnt .uch room
Stairs are steep and original, but we managed and we are seniors!
Everyhing was comfy and homey. Any quirks would just be chalked to being a very old home. All in all a great stay and we were able to stay an extra day. areseniors.claustrophobiwhenshowering.

Not a place for older people. The house is very quirky. Very clean and fairly comfortable. Stairs are a nightmare, very steep and narrow. To shower you need to get in claw foot tub with no grab bars or anything to hang onto. If you aren't fully awake, when you open the frig you will be! The creak in the hinges will wake you. The kitchen faucet may end up in your hand! It could be much nicer with some quick changes. Maybe listing the history of the house would people accept the quirks.
It is definitely an old place. I like older properties though since Im a history person. So the timelss stay definitely fit the advertising. It could use some detailed instructions on where to put the garbage and things like that but besides that a good place to stay for the price. Be warned on the stairs...not for elderly or frail people. They were put in before the safety standards I suppose. It was more like climbing a ladder. Also the clawfoot tub is not for a fragile person. You have to step up into it...almost climb in. I loved the host though. Very easy to communicate with and very responsive.
