Relax and play at this private retreat on 8 quiet acres. Located a little over a mile from Lake James and the Bridgewater Fishing and Boating Access on the Catawba River, this is the perfect spot for your boating, fishing and/or paddling excursions.

Launch your adventures on Lake James, the Catawba River, at the State Park, or in Linville Gorge from this peaceful and private setting! Boat ramps and marinas are within ten minutes from the home.

Recently renovated, the home offers all modern conveniences combined with tasteful rustic luxury. Clean, comfortable, and inviting. We take pride in providing a clean and comfortable space.

Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated with comfort and convenience in mind.

The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a full meal or quick snack. The kitchen table can accommodate seating up to eight.

The living room couch or recliners are perfect places to watch a movie.

The den offers a separate space for kids to hang out (or adults to work).

Enjoy the outdoor, covered space with 120 inch movie/tv screen with streaming video, ping pong table, corn hole, and sitting area.

This was our second stay at this property, and we had another wonderful visit! Our family loves the outdoor amenities, and we also enjoy gathering in the kitchen and living room. The house is very clean, and we have always found everything we needed. We hope to return again in the fall!

Great spot in the woods!

This is an amazing place to stay. Every room was very clean and well maintained. The property is beautiful and the owner responds fast. The big bonus was the check out procedure was simple. We are talking about going back in the fall.

Great place and the perfect location

The property was great, very secluded and it had everything you needed. Chocolates on the dinner table were a bonus. I saw deer every night. The air worked great and so did everything else. Definitely will be coming back.

This little house was so BIG with everything we would have needed. The extra pullout was a bonus for us because some would rather sleep by themselves. The firewood called to us to sit outside and enjoy a fire. And we even enjoyed a movie in the outside recreation area. Every room was clean and pristine. These host thought of everything. We needed a place close to Lake James for the weekend and this house was lovely. It is a nice and comfortable home, with several outside gathering areas, and a well-stocked kitchen.

What a fantastic place! It is buried in the woods! Long gravel drive you’d never think you’d have internet, great TV, great privacy… everything is brand new & spotless! Great fun with ping pong, fire pit… wake up in the morning with turkeys & we even had a bald Eagle! Bed was super comfy. We are very familiar with the area so we knew that the beautiful river is practically across the street & only a couple of miles from multiple boat launches. We brought our Jon boat and it was easy to maneuver around the property-a bigger boat might be a little challenging due to the overhang and thin gravel road so keep that in mind… Thank you for letting us stay in your very private oasis!

Wonderful Stay!

We absolutely loved staying at this house for our vacation to vising family in Morganton. The house was just perfect for our family of 4 but also for having our family come and join us for dinner a few times. The outside space, fire pit, and ping pong were huge hits with our kids aged 15 and 11. The house is located in a wonderful area and just minutes from the lake, yet feels secluded and private. We enjoyed the surrounding area so much and just enjoyed the laid back comfort of being in the country with a slower pace for a couple of days. The house is immaculately clean, has everything that you could need or want, and is very comfortable. The beds are all comfortable, the house has plenty of space, and feels cozy and inviting. The house lacked nothing that we needed. Also, I had made a mistake in booking our trip and needed to move it out a week to accommodate our daughters spring break and the owners were wonderful to work with. They were so kind and understanding and found a solution that worked perfectly for our family. They are accessible and just great as hosts. We plan to stay again next time we come up to the area.
