We love the neighborhood and the apartment! We had a great time and highly recommend this clean, stylish, comfortable, and safe apartment. Having a washing machine and dryer to use for free in the building is a big help. A few missing details could make this an even better stay: more toilet paper, dish washing sponge, an outdoor tub that actually works and has hot water, etc. I hope the owners will make a few improvements.
This apartment was right in the heart of Roma Norte, with cafe's, restaurants, bars and boutiques all within walking distance. The building has 24 hour security which gave us confidence that our apartment was safe anytime we were out. The view from the kitchen table and from the rooftop deck were fabulous and the apartment had all the amenities you could want. Great kitchen and plenty of room. Having only AC in the upper bedroom was fine since we were only in the apartment at night or to take a day time nap. Looking forward to our next trip to Mexico City and renting from Wynwood.
Review:Our stay at this VRBO was incredibly disappointing. First, the room was not properly cleaned—dust covered most surfaces, making it feel unkempt and uncomfortable. The internet never worked despite multiple attempts to get help through the VRBO app, but no real assistance was provided. On top of that, we endured two full nights of loud construction noise right outside. The host seemed aware of this issue, as there was a single set of earplugs left in the room—but we were two guests, not one.To make matters worse, when we arrived, there were no instructions on how to enter the property. We had to wait an hour outside before finally receiving the necessary information.Overall, this was a frustrating and poorly managed experience. For the price, we expected far better service and communication. I would not recommend staying here.
My wife and I stayed here for 10 days. On arrival we saw the apartment was not cleaned, the windows were so dirty that you could draw in the dirt on them with your finger, the only pot still had food stuck to it and there were what looked like cookie crumbs in the nightstand drawers. There were 3 bath towels, no hand towels and no wash cloths. We asked for clean towels after 4 days and were told the cost for clean sheets and towels would be 40 and could only happen Tuesdays through Thursdays. The walls between the units are concrete but there must be gaps in shared sky lights or door jambs so snoring, coughing or other noises make it sound like we were sharing a room with our neighbors. The "stairs" leading up to the bedroom are dangerous at best. There is no landing at the top so going to the bathroom from the bedroom there is a 8" deep hole to step around (which should be the landing). The treads on the stairs are only about 5" deep with no closed riser so it is basically a poorly designed ladder. Our friends stayed in a different unit the week we were there and there electricity went off for 24 hours so the had to get around their room with their phone flashlights. They were given a 10% discount for that night...9.00.My impression is that this is a corporate owned building and any support staff for guests are a continent away.
We loved staying at this property, good location in Roma Norte. Lots of good qualities and a few oddities. Only the upper floor, the bedroom, is air conditioned. Lower floor got very hot during the day and never really cooled off at night even with the windows open. The stairs leading up to the bedroom are not for the faint of heart. The kitchen was very nice to have, large refrigerator, the description says there is an oven but there is not. The coffee maker is a french press. The windows both upstairs and down are very thin and street noise was an issue at night (they provided one pair of earplugs, we purchased another). The outside terrace was delightful, especially in the evening, it faces south so it gets full sun all day. Take care, it is possible to lock yourself out on the terrace. The building has earthquake protection, which is good, but it sways, a passing bus or a strong breeze makes it move noticeably. The walls of the upstairs bathroom do not extend to the floor or ceiling so we were glad there was a bathroom downstairs as well. I don't mean to make everything sound negative. We loved the apartment and would return. We loved exploring the neighborhood and the whole city and the apartment was a welcome base to come home to. The 24 hour doorman, the available washer and dryer, the wireless internet, the helpful management, all good stuff.
