This is a one-of-a-kind vacation rental because of the level of privacy and the large piece of property that is exclusively yours to use and explore. You will have the entire property (388 acres) all to yourself to enjoy. note- (occasionally the landowners may be staying in a cabin at the other end of the property about 3/4 of a mile away but this does not disturb the privacy or quietness of the house) . The house is a beautiful custom built home with hardwood cherry floors, two large redwood decks, four bedrooms and two baths, a family room, living room, dining room and is in one of the most beautiful locations that you can imagine. It is like renting a park without any other people. Located in the redwood belt you can enjoy miles of trails along cascading streams and little waterfalls that run through fern covered redwood forests. Swim in the pond, bike or hike along the trails, (kids can catch crawdads in the pond). The quietness of the property is truly amazing and is like nothing you will find anywhere else.
Have an undisturbed family reunion in one of the most beautiful pieces of property that you will ever visit.
The custom built home is well maintained and has many homelike qualities. There is a gas barbeque for entertaining. A beautiful creek runs past the front of the house and two ponds are on the property. One of the ponds is only 100 feet from the house. There are numerous species of wildlife including hawks, owls, pond turtles, river otters, and great blue herons to name a few.
There are two decks, one is covered and faces the pond and the other faces a meadow with 250 year old oak trees. The kids can pitch a tent in the adjacent meadows and explore the forests and creeks while you lay in the hammock among the oak trees.
This rental is as close to a wilderness adventure as you can get without actually having to rough it.

We spent 4 days in the rain on this property for our family Holiday and it was amazing! The caretaker 'Kale' was excellent, easily to communicate with and answered all of our questions. The home was perfect for all of us. For those of us that needed wifi, Starlink worked very well. We loved wandering through the vast forest and found a ton of edible mushrooms for a feast. Black trumpet chanterelles and hedgehogs were going off with all the rain! The hot tub and BBQ were great! This property will definitely be at the top of our list in the future! Thank you, Michael
We had a stay with our extended family, it was really beautiful and relaxing vacation for the whole family, with lots of space outdoor and very private area. Kitchen is lots of utensils and spices. Would highly recommend. The host was very responsive and gave some trips and well.. Allowed us for early check-in and made the process very smooth.
We stayed for 3 nights with our kids (3 & 1) and our dog. It was very cozy and we had everything we needed. The property is very private and clearly very well loved and cared for. While rustic, the kitchen had everything we needed. Our daughter enjoyed the collection of vintage VHS tapes upstairs and took advantage of the toddler toilet seat on one of the toilets. It was great to be able to contain our baby with the gate at the bottom of the stairs and the high chair we found in a closet. A few things to know: we saw a lot of bear poop around, so it’s best to keep your dog on leash or a long lead. The one time we let ours off, she came back covered in ticks and burrs. The largest upstairs bedroom doesn’t have a duct vent, so stays quite cold in the chilly months. The wood on the porch was pretty wet in November, so you may want to bring some inside to dry when you arrive. We brought some of our own kindling too. Overall we had a very cozy and enchanting time. The cabin was especially comfortable when it got frosty outside. We hope to come visit again!
The property is lovely and provides a wonderful escape from the city, perfect for a refreshing retreat. Although the bridge leading to the property may appear a bit precarious, it is structurally sound, and we were able to cross it without issue in a large vehicle. My senior dogs enjoyed having ample space to explore. It is advisable to apply tick collars a few days prior to your visit. The host was kind enough to provide us with this information before our arrival. We encountered a minor issue with the propane stove, but it was easily resolved by following the instructions. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic and wonderfully warm, and while it lacked jets, it was still perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. It was a truly enjoyable trip, and we would certainly consider returning.
If you want to experience total peace and quiet, this is the place to be. We had 7 adults, 2 girls and 3 dogs and the house was more than adequate. The dogs and kids had free range of the property. We really enjoyed just sitting outside and enjoying nature. House and kitchen were well stocked (no microwave or toaster, which caused me to panic a bit, but figured out quite nicely). Art responded quickly to my messages and was always very gracious. This is on the top of our list to return to someday.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the house. would have enjoyed some dry firewood and propane for the barbecue. Had to run into town to buy a propane tank.
This is a peaceful and wonderful comfy house in the woods. It is off grid, and we had a lovely time maintaining a fire, going for walks, playing games, watching movies, and overall detaching from the world. It is quiet and beautiful, we'll definitely come back again!
Art's home wildly exceeded my hopes and expectations for a forest filled weekend away. Very much appreciate the opportunity to stay at this property, and appreciated the care and clarity to prepare for a perfect weekend! Thank you!
Beautiful property. Very clean and had unique rustic decor. We had a big group, but plenty of seating for everyone if spread out inside and outside. Comfortable sleeping arrangements and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We brought a waffle iron and small microwave from home, but approved it by the owner first. A few negatives that may be able to be remedied before the next guest. We ran into was a wasp problem near the hammock (7 stings among 3 kids) so it made them gunshy to play on the grass. The bolts hanging the swings seemed a little precarious too. Also, a few of the screens fell off pretty easily that we repaired with what we could find. Those should be fixed more tightly before small children visit. We did see what looked like bear skat on our last day. Definitely remote life, but we loved it! Really enjoyed our stay overall.
The only sounds you could hear from the property were the natural sounds of the woods. No other property within 66 acres of woodlands, and almost none withing 3 miles. Just a lovely place for a small family vacation.

Apart from time and in a separate space....
This was truly a wondrous place. I cannot begin to thank you enough for sharing this place with us. We had a glorious week, celebrating our friendships, family and the season in a perfect environment. It is our hope to revel in this beautiful place again and again.
The property is beautiful and the house was lovely. We had plenty of room and the outside area was so wonderful for our dogs to play and explore. They especially loved the pond. There was a hiking trail and a deserted road for walking. Art was great about responding to questions before we arrived and check in was easy. I would definitely stay here again.
We had such a lovely time here. It ended up being pretty rainy while we were there, but the wood burning stove and the hot tub kept us nice and cosy. We all did several hikes around the property (beautiful redwoods and oaks, lots of ferns, moss and mushrooms, and the creek running right by the house). The kitchen is really well equipped: we made several great meals. We had 6 adults and 3 teens, plenty of sleeping space for all. Overall a great spot, I'd be happy to go back again.
I have rented a lot of places over the years. But this one is definitely unique sad stands out. Complete isolation with acres of private serene nature all yours to enjoy. We were 5 adults and 3 teens had an amazing time. Communication with the owner was really good,
What a magical space! We did a last minute Easter visit and our family ranging from babies to grandparents had a wonderful time. The house was beautifully clean and had many of the small items(baby gate, highchair) that make traveling with little kids so much easier. The property itself is stunning, our kids spent everyday outside playing by the creek or the large meadow & play structure. We already want to go back when all the flowers start blooming!
House is beautiful and perfect for our family. There is so much to do .. hiking, bike riding, swimming.
Such natural beauty.
The fridge has been upgraded from previous reviews. It is now very large. Owner is very responsive.
Could not have been happier!
Thank you
Great Communication With Hosts / Beautiful Property
Art was super nice and helpful! The property was gorgeous with redwood trees all around it and the house was fully stocked with anything you need kitchen and laundry wise. We swam in the pond and it felt surprisingly clean even though it’s a pond. Long drive in with gravel parts, but fun nonetheless! Lots of activities to do around the house such as frisbee golf, hot tub, rope swing, and hiking trails to name a few! The wifi worked perfectly and you could stream movies on the tv easily. Overall loved our stay!
Me and 11 friends had planned a trip Tahoe to celebrate my upcoming wedding, but when the weather had other plans (during the crazy March storms) we booked this cabin instead as a safer option. The hosts were so kind to go check on the property beforehand to make sure it was safe to get to. The property is pretty remote, and on a gorgeous plot of land. It was well stocked, had beds for everyone, as well as 2 common spaces and a stocked kitchen. The hosts were available by text when we had questions and very kind. I definitely hope to return!
The house was exactly what we expected. My husband had a great time exploring the trails. Am wondering the property. Wish it hadn’t snowed on us though but was beautiful to see. We’d love to return to this property in the summer to see it at a different time. There were 5 of us along with two dogs a still plenty of room a beds. Plus we had company from other family that lives in willits. Would w been nice not to have to lea e at 330am but overall we truly enjoyed our stay. We did have gate problems that when I called Art he fixed right away. So he was very helpful a nice. We did run into a neighbor on the single road after the gate an had a small issue of trying to get around but was an easy fix. Thanks for letting us use your home. We hope to be able to do it when it’s warmer.
