About the host
Hosted by Candace Harris
Both Reid and Candace grew up in the area and currently live in Colorado. We were thrilled to be able to acquire this pristine property for us and family as well as our renters. The farmhouse is cool in the summer and we love hanging out on the glider on the banks of the creek. We have family and friends in the area who are available to help us and our guests out when needed.
Why they chose this property
Being on the creek, hearing rushing water from everywhere in the house is as soothing as it gets. The level yard is ideal for badminton and croquet. The creekside yard is shaded by huge trees including 2 rare white pines. Swings are suspended from trees for reading or napping. You'll see deer, wild turkeys, mink and 2 resident bald eagles. We love water sports and Reid is an accomplished fly fisherman. He just descends the stone steps and casts his line. The creek is stocked with trout so you're almost guaranteed a catch. I swim every day and explore both up and downstream.
What makes this property unique
Having no neighbors in sight belies the fact that you're 5 minutes from town, 10 minutes from Williamsport and the Little League World Series, farmer's markets, really good restaurants, movies and antiquing. Explore lush back roads, state forests with water features and revolutionary war era architecture. There are summer theaters and concerts to attend. Play golf, tennis, hike, ride the numerous bike trails all within half an hour.
