About the host
Hosted by The Tung

Hi guys! The Tung here. You can call me Tung or Vincent. I live in Hanoi, Vietnam and I love food & coffee. I will be thrilled to share my list with you. Please don't blame me if you gain some weight after the trip :) Phung Hung House is our cozy place, where you can feel Hanoian's hospitality, friendliness, and joy. Come come!
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it captures a side of Hanoi that feels both timeless and real.
Phùng Hưng Street sits right on the edge of the famous Train Street, where trains pass just meters from people’s homes. But beyond the photos and the thrill of watching the train go by, what I love most is the gentle, everyday rhythm of life here. Morning vendors roll by with baskets of fruit, neighbors chat over cups of tea, and in the evening, the whole street softens into a kind of golden calm.
The area is full of character — old tiled roofs, vintage shutters, a mix of old Hanoi charm and youthful energy from nearby cafés and homestays. It’s close to all the main attractions, but it never feels chaotic. There’s always a small alley to wander into, a quiet corner to rest, or a burst of color from someone’s flower pot on the balcony.
I enjoy how walkable and photogenic it is, yet not overly touristy. You get to see Hanoi, not just visit it. That’s why I chose this neighborhood — because it lets you be part of the city in a way that feels honest, warm, and beautifully local.

What makes this property unique
What makes this space unique is how it feels at once open, sun-filled, and quietly private — right in the middle of Hanoi.
The apartment is set just a few steps away from the famous Train Street, but unlike many places nearby, it’s not crowded or noisy. It’s tucked up high, filled with light, and opens onto a private balcony where you can breathe, read, or sip something warm while life moves gently below.
Inside, it’s more than just a room to sleep in. You’ll find a cozy projector setup, perfect for relaxing movie nights, and a full kitchen that lets you cook and stay in if you want to. Most guests tell us it feels more like a mini home than a hotel room.
It’s also thoughtfully designed for independent travelers — with self check-in, two queen beds, and a bright, flexible layout that works well for couples, friends, or even solo guests who just want space to stretch out.
What makes it special isn’t one big feature — it’s the way all the small things come together: the morning sun on the wall, the smell of coffee from the kitchen, the soft buzz of Hanoi in the distance. It’s simple, but it stays with you.
