Though our family gathering was to attend a funeral, we couldn't have asked for a warmer, cleaner, or more beautiful setting. This home is majestic and fascinating with lots of room both inside and out to accommodate all of us.
Beautiful home with rich, southern charm and history. Enjoyed reading about the house and its previous owners. My grandchildren thought they were truly staying in “The Clue Game”.
Five couples rented in March for our 50th Cheraw High School reunion. Plenty of space to be together or wander off to read. We hired Patricia Moore at Cabin Creek to cater a lunch in the gorgeous dining room. Rent very reasonable. Love this house, details, gardens, and furnishings.

The house was beautiful. Our crew enjoyed their stay greatly. The owner of the company was very happy with the house and spoke highly of it. He said if he is in the area again he would love to stay at this property again.
There were 10 of us that stayed at the house and it couldn't have been any more perfect. It felt more like someone's home than a VRBO. We had everything that we needed. It is spacious, well appointed, and even had an inviting rear wildflower garden and fire pit. This home is all around lovely. Communication from the host was quick and easy and they were very attentive. We loved our stay and can't wait to return. Thank you, John for your hospitality.

Cheraw Home
We loved our stay at the Anderson home! It was beautifully decorated, but most of all very comfortable for our extended family visiting Cheraw for January wedding.

Shared from the owner: "Thank you for your great review, Lara. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed staying here for a family wedding!"
I rented the house to accommodate several vets and volunteers for a horse endurance event that I manage at H Cooper Black. All the people that stayed in the house really enjoyed the beauty and special accommodations this home offered.
My family stayed here over the weekend to celebrate a family wedding nearby. The house was beautiful. We all enjoyed ourselves and loved to spend time walking around the house and admiring the antiques. I have a family member in a wheelchair and they were able to navigate the house very easily. This property is truly a special place, and you will not be disappointed
The photos online do not do this opulent property and it’s furnishings justice. This house was gorgeous, very comfortable, and well-appointed. The hosts were exceptional - attentive, welcoming, and highly communicative. I simply cannot say enough about how wonderful this stay was! I strongly recommend this property and it’s hosts. My family and I would love to return in the future.

Thank you, Heather, for your wonderful review and for staying at this property for your family reunion! I am so glad you all appreciated the home's history and furnishings. We all look forward to hosting you all again next time you're in Cheraw.
We spent an amazing Thanksgiving holiday with family in this beautiful home! We all agreed that we would love to own this historic house. Our 98 year old mother was with us and the accommodations were perfect for her, including the wheelchair ramp. The kitchen was well stocked, all the beds were so comfy, and the hosts were very attentive and gracious. It is a special place and an unusual find in the beautiful little city of Cheraw.
This historic home is absolutely beautiful. All the decor in the rooms are amazing. The family makes sure you are accomodated for all your needs. If you are visiting Cheraw SC you must stay. I promise you won't be disappointed

My family felt right at home
Coming from the city to this beautiful home in South Carolina I felt right at home. I made a special request and the host delivered. Which placed a warmth in my heart. This beautiful aviance of the home with the beautiful Christmas tree during the Christmas holiday made it that much more memorable. My family in the area came to visit and they fell in love with the home's spacious and beautiful touches all throughout the home. The home was clean, it's spacious, I slept like a baby. Now that I'm back at home in the city I feel homesick I want to go back to this beautiful quiet home. I'm thinking about going back in the summer or maybe in the spring where I can enjoy the beautiful sun porch and do some writing. I feel like I have to go back just to enjoy the beautiful outside fire pit area.
Our grandmother used to live in this house back in the 1950's and 60's and our whole family dreamed of that lovely home. So our dream, literally, came true when we got to stay in this beautifully cared for home! John has taken care to maintain its classic beauty. Everything was clean and welcoming when we arrived. There were even fresh flowers and snacks to greet us after our long trip to Cheraw! The house is beautifully decorated and the decor is historically correct. The location is right in the middle of the Cheraw historic district and we took advantage of this on several walks around the area. Just a small tip--- we were able to get someone from the historical society to give us a personal tour and it was well worth the time. Communications from John about the history of the home and about how to access the house were very clear and on time. We have previously stayed in local hotels when we have been in Cheraw for business trips and we can unequivocally say that our experience at this home was the best in every aspect. There are plenty of rooms to accommodate groups and the kitchen is nice and well-stocked. Even if you don't have a specific reason to be in Cheraw, I would suggest that you stay in this house just for the rare opportunity to experience southern elegance and hospitality at a reasonable cost. I promise-- you won't regret it!
This home is beautiful in its grandeur and style. The pictures are accurate but do not do it justice. It has been updated while preserving the original architectural details. It is thoughtfully decorated with details specific of that time. I personally love homes of this era, 1920’s-1930’s. Be sure to give yourself some time to soak it all in and to learn the history of the home. It is like walking through a museum.
The hosts have thoughtfully provided a timeline explaining the history of the home. They are actually descendants of a former owner and recently acquired the home brining it back to the family name. It is clear that the hosts are invested in the property and it shows. Of note, the hosts are on the same street. They are very responsive but not intrusive. I received quick responses to any texts or calls. They are lovely and extremely hospitable.
The neighborhood, Cheraw, SC is small and quaint. The few restaurants and shops are within walking distance of the home. The home has a binder outlining many of the dining and recreational options of Cheraw. The town is very walkable. The home is on a residential quiet road. We felt very safe and the home has a security alarm but we did not find the need to activate it.
This house is spacious, neat and clean. We were a family gathering (all adults) to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday. There is plenty of room to accommodate a large family with several common rooms/ sitting rooms/ sitting porches. The handicap accessibility was particularly useful (1st floor master en-suite and outdoor ramp). The modern kitchen has all you could think of and more to fix up a meal or even a large celebratory/ holiday feast. Some areas even have a Sonos sound system you can connect to via Bluetooth.
The bedrooms are all spacious with comfortable beds, linens and pillows. Each bathroom is well appointed with towels and basic toiletries.
Initially, I was hesitant to book this home as it appears to be a newer listing but I have no regrets! To the hosts: We graciously appreciate your warm hospitality and thank you for sharing your gorgeous home!
