Gentle Bear Lookout exudes a rustic charm, with a wooden interior, a fireplace centerpiece, and plush leather sofas for comfortable seating. Relax on the deck and take in the scenery and fresh mountain air. Gentle Bear is close to outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. You can also enjoy fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the neaby lakes and streams.

Although Gentle Bear has a rustic feel, it is equipped with modern amenities such as a Tesla charger, Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen. After a long day of outdoor activities, relax and unwind in the hot tub. Or sit around the fire pit, enjoy a bonfire and roast marshmellows under the stars.

The open living room, kitchen, and dining room is a great space to relax after a day of exploring, cook dinner together, or watch your favorite movie. There is also a full size washer and dryer off the kitchen.
Through the dining room, you will find a screened in porch. Perfect for gathering without the bugs!

The road to Gentle Bear is on an incline but is paved. The road turns to gravel when you pull into the driveway. Across the road from Gentle Bear, there is additional parking for a trailer.

The cabin was fantastic and beautiful. The cabin was located near Bryson and at great location. I was 15 to 30 minutes from all the attractions I visited. I cannot wait to book the cabin again soon. I had a great peaceful vacation. The place was clean, the WiFi good, just a great week. Thank you Gentke Bear Lookout, I can’t wait to see you soon.

The cabin itself is adorable and fit our party of 3 adults and 2 children well but i can see how it would be cramped with a larger group. The location is close to deep creek & not a terrible drive to Dollywood Outside entrance light is located in the laundry room (we located this on day 7 of our 10 night stay) It was not on for our late arrival so we had to navigate the dark steps while bringing in our belongings. The lighting in the cabin is dim. We did have a fluorescent light go out in the kitchen and maintenance came quickly and fixed it. The cover had to be left off since it cracked when he was removing it but honestly it offered better lighting so we were happy. As for cleanliness, i cleaned a spill left in the fridge door, a cup was not clean so i did a load of dishes before we used them. I moved a sofa to retrieve a toy and found that they don’t move the sofa to clean. Lots of spider webs outside around entry doors. Motion sensor lighting for outdoors would be a great idea for late arrivals. The bush is growing into the entryway at the laundry side of the home and needs to be trimmed. Cabin is being destroyed on the outside by carpenter bees and the woodpeckers that eat them. The upstairs patio is un-usable. A dead tree that wan on the edge of the backyard actually dropped a branch after a bit of rain and we were lucky the children were not in the area when it crashed down. The rest of the dead tree is definitely a hazard and should be removed.

Home is well appointed and nice. Lovely kitchen and great room area. True to the photos. The house interior is clean. Outside space had some spiderwebs but still usable. The house stays cool. It is a quiet and peaceful property.

A gentle retreat

Gentle Bear is a very comfortable, safe cabin in a great location with good privacy. Didn't see one bear during our 7 day stay and the dogs enjoyed their outdoor activities. Be prepared to drive up and down a steep gravel driveway. We'd definitely rent this cabin again.
