Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

Please return the thermostat to a vacancy setting - closer to the outside temperature: In the summer, please set the thermostat to 75, before leaving. In the winter, please set the thermostat to 55.

If you used the grill, make sure the valve from the propane tank to the grill is all the way closed.

Please take trash to the can closest to the house. Then, please take the can closest to the house, out to the road for Monday morning pickup. Please return the empty can from the road to the house.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Our family had a great time at The Lake House! It was clean, roomy, and very accommodating to our family of 5! It’s a quick trail walk to the water with a beautiful view of the lake! We kayaked (thanks to the host providing 2 kayaks) the lake while some of us fished from the rocks. The hammock is a great place to relax and close your eyes for a while! We enjoyed sitting around the fire and grilling on the back porch. It’s a great stay and a great price!

Matt is an excellent, thorough host. He responds quickly and informatively to all questions and inquiries. The home is very warm and cozy, decorated with his beautiful artwork, and is clean and spacious. We loved the screened-in game room/porch and enjoyed quality time out there playing at the big poker table. Having a window unit and ceiling fans made it very pleasant and comfortable, even in the heat of August. The property is very quiet and off the beaten path. This is a small, very rural town, and the closest stores and restaurants are about 20 minutes away. Greers Ferry Lake is beautiful, and we enjoyed swimming in it. Access to the lake from the property requires walking down a path and a rocky, uneven hillside, but it is doable. The water level fluctuates based on rainfall and weather conditions, but it is definitely worth the effort. We would definitely recommend staying here for a restful, comfortable stay in a peaceful setting.

Charming Lakeside Cottage

Excellent accommodations at Greer’s Ferry Lake! We had a great stay in this well appointed cottage and enjoyed the beautiful setting only a few steps from the lake. The house was very cozy and comfortable and the deck was perfect for relaxing. We appreciated all the amenities provided! The owner’s artwork and tasteful decor were very beautiful and perfect for the lake setting!!

Very relaxing time at the lake. The beds are comfortable and the area is peaceful. I enjoyed watching the wildlife with morning coffee on the rocky cliff. I believe I saw a bald eagle! My only notation is that because we are older people, my friend who has mobility issues was not able to actually walk down to the lake from the house because it was too steep and rocky for her to manage. She had to stay on the back deck which has a view but limited. We did drive to a local state park (about 30 min away) that offers a swim beach though and had a nice afternoon. It's lovely up there at the lake!

This house on the lake is designed to let you relax and have fun with your fellow guests. I found this lake house after weeks of searching the area for the right combination of modest size, room to spread out and a view of the lake. Whether you bring your close friends, or your immediate family. You should be able to have fun and let your worries go away for a while.

What makes this property unique

Walk down to the water and swim in the lake. Put a boat in, in less than five minutes. Fish the lake from behind the house. Get in some spectacular trout fishing at The Little Red River in about 15 minutes. Play some golf. You are 5 minutes from The Tannenbaum Golf Course. Read a book in the hammock. Play some poker, some chess, checkers or a few games of Pac Man. Cook a steak on the grill, or a few hot dogs on the fire pit. Watch a movie on the big screen TV at the end of a day on the water. But, don't miss the sunset on the lake from the back deck. It is is sublime!
