About this property

Romantic Getaway, on the East side. Perfect location, with access to everything!

OCEAN FRONT, one bedroom unit which has been redecorated top to bottom. We chose the total traditional island style with rattan and bamboo...from the furniture to the bamboo drapes, which give the whole place a warm, fresh feeling. We used sand style tile to hide the "beach" sand and dirt. :-)
The new granite counter is called solaris and is a beautiful, sunny gold and browns. This kitchen has been renovated with all new stainless appliances. It is a beautiful gourmet kitchen, where you can prepare a wonderful meal with the view and sound of the ocean as your backdrop. The entire unit has been painted top to bottom...it is also fresh and clean feeling. The old bathtub was removed and replaced with a wonderful rain-shower head and beautiful tile with glossy highlights. The colors simulate the ocean and it is just a great new bathroom - top to bottom. We have put quiet rock throughout on the ceilings and some common walls such as the bathroom and bedroom. We also built a wains-coating wall in the bedroom to also mitigated the sound from the adjoining unit! The curtains in the bedroom are good for total black-out and sound from the path outside. We hope you enjoy all of the upgrades we have incorporated into this ocean-side unit.

The Pono Kai Resort enjoys a fantastic location along the eastern coastline of Kauai, known as the coconut coast, because of the large palm trees that line the coast. From this central location on the island, visitors can easily explore Princeville to the north, Poipu to the south, and other hikes and trails on the island in a timely fashion.

Visitors staying at the Pono Kai Resort will enjoy an assortment of onsite activities such as the onsite pool and hot tub, lighted tennis courts and croquet lawn, shuffleboard, putting green, work-out room, BBQ facilities, and activity desk for booking on-island adventures. Our favorite amenity is easy to access the beachfront paved walking/bike trail that fronts the property and coastline. Explore the scenic trail for miles in each direction.
To enjoy the beautiful sounds and feel the ocean breezes. THIS CONDO DOES HAVE CENTRAL AC. There is a portable unit for the small bedroom, and large ceiling fans and ocean breezes.

We provide everything you need for a day at the beach or hiking, plus we provide new bicycles. You can watch the sun come up from the Lanai...which is a breathtaking experience on the beautiful garden island of Kauai!

Great Location and Space

First time ever visiting Hawaii. I can’t imagine a better location and condo to serve as our home base while we explored the many wonders of the Garden Island. Lena was quick to respond to our frequent communications from the start of our reservation until the day we checked out. This unit was fantastic in all categories! The ocean view was phenomenal. The unit was beautiful inside with all the amenities one would need. The A/C worked perfectly, also. We could not have possibly asked for a better unit, it was absolutely perfect. If and when we return to Kauai we will definitely rent this unit again. If you are reading this and considering this unit, GO FOR IT! You will NOT be disappointed.

The room was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. It is highly desirable that this unit comes with air conditioning, which is very much needed in Hawaii. The view is impeccable. The location is central to all of Kauai. Getting to any part of the island doesn’t seem very far away. My only complaint is that the television station options are not easy to maneuver and I don’t know if it was available, but I could not get any local TV stations (Honolulu). Otherwise I would highly recommend this rental.

This was a wonderful stay. The place was beautiful and felt very homey. The view is spectacular. We could have just sat on the patio for hours. We did all the tourity things and had fun instead. The location is good except you can't make a left turn out of the property and the traffic is quite heavy so it was a little hastle getting out.We enjoyed it so much we want to bring our grown kids next year.

Favorite Place I’ve Stayed in Kauai

This was indeed a remarkable treasure on The Garden Isle. It was a perfect stay and I appreciated having such a wonderful option RIGHT ON THE BEACH! The owners were extremely helpful throughout the process. Centrally located and walkable to a lot of great coffee and dining options (and two grocery stores), I hope to be able to return to paradise some day. Mahalo!

Amazing stay in Kapaa

This was a great place for a visit to Kaua’i. Beautiful unit in a nice resort, with convenient access to the bike path and ocean. The included bikes and beach gear are a nice touch as well. Lots of good local restaurants & food trucks, and the general location is central with easy access to the northern and southern parts of the island.

Incredible view.Beautiful decor. Fantastic amenities. And a very conscientious host who has everything you may need and a lot of extras to help your stay be the best experience ever!She even had bug spray in the cabinet which helped immensely when we went on impromptu hikes! Oh and 2 bikes too! 10 out of 10 stars!

We are long time skiers from Steamboat Springs, who are now snow-birds! We spend our winters on Kauai golfing, hiking, biking, boogie boarding and exploring all the adventures this beautiful Garden Island of Kauai has to offer.

Why they chose this property

This is a beautiful newly renovated condo which is ocean front property, located in the wonderful little beach town of Kapa'a. We love this little beach town, which is walking distance from the condo; with several beaches large and small also within walking/biking distance.

What makes this property unique

There is a 7 mile multi-use path in front of the condo which runs along the edge of the ocean. It is so great to be able to just head right out biking. There is a concierge on-site who can help you with any bucket list items you may have: whale watch, Luau, tubing the ditch in a former plantation and any other ideas you may have.
