I would give this listing six stars if I could. The house is lovingly well kept and has a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and making meals while staying. The property is beautiful and the pasture with four (silent) sheep next door is unique and fun. The hosts were very responsive, welcoming, and friendly.
We rented the house for family to stay during our daughter’s wedding in Vernonia. What a beautiful property! Our grandchildren particularly enjoyed petting the bunnies and seeing the farm animals. Thanks to Susan for being so great with the kids. Fantastic space for a group.
An excellent place to stay, with a generous host & hostess who happily shared their lovely & well-maintained farmhouse & gardens! The Banks-Vernonia Trail, Vernonia Lake & swimming hole were very popular with our grand-children. We had a completely successful family reunion & hope to come again! Highly recommended.
Great place had everything you could imagine to feel like home! Beautiful, farm, quiet, and peaceful! Even had cute cats and a lovely store with the yummiest jams ever! Definitely will stay again!
This has been the easiest vrbo we have stayed in. The house is incredibly cozy and it’s well worth meeting the owners and finding out about the animals. We got to feed the baby lambs. It was adorable. We’re absolutely coming back here some day
Excellent home base for a stay in the Vernonia area. Loved the gardens and the paece and quiet of the property. The home was well furnished and comfortable. A great place for your family to relax. A true home away from home.
We were doing a certification training at Camp Cedar Ridge. Having the farmhouse to come home to was perfect for our group. We enjoyed the farm animals and the general peaceful atmosphere. Very close to town as well. We appreciated the friendly welcome by the resident cats out doors.
We had the absolute BEST TIME at this farm house!!! Quiet, out in the country... sheep, goats, gorgeous flowers and a veggie garden where we picked a fresh zucchini for dinner.
The owners were super friendly, and we shopped at their garden store. Walked away with jam and a Japanese maple.
At night we did smores at the firepit and drank coffee in the garden in the mornings.
Highly recommended!
We were in town for our Nephews wedding and had such a wonderful stay at The Farmhouse. It was definitely a home away from home. Having stayed at many VRBO and rental properties in the past this beautiful property was the most well equipped home we have had the pleasure to stay at, they have thought of everything and more. We were finding amenities provided all the way up until we left after our 4 day stay. The gardens are beautiful on the property and one that provides fresh produce depending on time of season. Also the thoughtfulness of baked goods and fresh flowers to welcome us upon our arrival! Thank you Susan and Jeff for making us feel so cared for. Our only disappointment was our schedule was so busy we didn’t get to take a tour of the grounds with you and try jam tasting nor have a fire. Hopefully one day we can come back again to really get to enjoy your home! Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality. Sincerely Shawn and Cheri
Absolutely gorgeous location in Vernonia; right on the bike trail for a nice walk into town or a ride to the pond. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, with a beautiful garden, yard and back patio. The house is cute with plenty of space and all the amenities you would need!
Susan showed us around the barn and we met the animals. Communication with her and Jeff was excellent.
We wished the hot tub was working, especially with the cool nights!
It was a nice drive down the mountain into Hillsboro when needed, and only an hour down to the coast!
You are right off the road to Vernonia, though, so you can hear the cars/trucks on the road just as they pass the house. But box fans were in the bedrooms for white noise!
We had a fabulous vacation and hope to come back!
Such a beautiful property, lots of room and comfort
The property is stunning! we loved sitting in the living room window seat, propped up on the pillows and watching all of the birds on the feeders. Susan and Jeff - the owners left a bird identification card.
The kitchen is huge with a big dining table, enough seating for the extended family. Susan left us 2 rolls of orange/poppy seed cookie dough, which we baked up and swooned.
The beds are outstanding, cozy bedding and cushy pillows and throw blankets.
At the Cheep-housing, Susan can arrange a tasting of her 10-15 homemade jams and sauces - me and my little granddaughters tasted, bought several and then Susan allowed us to help with feeding of the animals: goats, sheep, bunnies, and look for the hidden chicken eggs.
It was superb. I will always look up this home when I visit Vernonia, it will be our home-base what a treat!
