Golf Simulator! We had an incredible time staying at 25 Starboard Tack. The house is huge and very well appointed. They recently put in a sunken theater and golf simulator that we had the privilege of being the first guests to use it. All our golfers loved it! It is also very nice to find a pet friendly home that is perfectly clean. The new owners and management company are also virus doing a great job. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful house and setting. Well appointed overall. No pool lights, communicated that and got an apology and promise to send someone to fix this after the first day…..this was not addressed or repaired the 2 weeks we were there. Paid for the golf simulator, blew a circuit breaker a couple of evenings in and couldn’t use it until the following afternoon. It shut down on its own again another evening and wouldn’t reboot so we lost a second night of use. Paid for a week and got at best 5 days use out of it. Seemed a bit much to me given the price of the property. Otherwise loved the house, loved the setting and would certainly recommend Palmetto Dunes resort.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you loved the home and its beautiful setting, but we’re sorry the pool lighting and golf simulator issues put a damper on parts of your two-week stay. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention and giving us the opportunity to improve. We’re happy that, despite these frustrations, you enjoyed the home and Palmetto Dunes overall. Thank you for staying with Hilton Head Properties Realty & Rentals and for your recommendation.

Multigenerational family vacation

Everything was great. Large open spaces that accommodated all of us but also had private areas for smaller groups. For us, the 2 wings made it easy to have an active space for older kids while the opposite wing was good for the grandparents and families with younger children. We would stay there again.

Stumbled Upon Piece Heaven

After searching several areas that would hold my family and I, I stumbled across this beauty. Home was beautifully decorated and well kept. There’s enough to do inside the home to where you hardly have to leave the property. My family absolutely loved it!!!

Great Family Vacation

Our family had a wonderful time. The property was spacious and easily accommodated 12 adults and 3 toddlers. The dining area was spacious. We all loved the pool. The property manager was wonderful and responded immediately to any needs. Overall, great place to stay, nothing was a deal breaker, just some improvements recommended: The kitchen cookware needs to be updated. For a group our size, it was difficult to cook with small cookware. ie, there was no large kettle to boil pasta, and the frying pans were worn, and serving utensils need updated. The downstairs playroom also needs updated. Location was great! Close to grocery stores, beach, activities for the kids, short drive to Harbortown, golf and bike riding. Also XPlorie was great to use! Wonderful family vacation!!

25 Starboard Tack

Property, location in Palmetto Dunes all great. The issues were things that didn't work or things that we felt were "missing". Refrigerator was out for the first two days and we ended up having to throw food away. Projection TV in media room, we finally got to "semi-work", but no instructions. Outside of the kitchen, there was no comfortable family seating area. Media room only sat 6, and we had 6 adults and 6 children. There was plenty of space for seating in the foyer area that faced the lagoon, but it was empty. Outdoor seating by the pool - all of the cushions needed replacement. Corn hole tables are both rotted. Cushions missing on balcony and master balcony, the outdoor furniture was ripped up. Lack of hot water in one master. All of these are easily remediable. We wondered that the owners didn't want to make these investments because the property was for sale. Fix these things and it's 5 star. Bedrooms were comfortable. Master could have used some seating. Kitchen was well stocked. It's just a bunch of things and inconveniences to question if worth the price we paid. We have rented many houses on the island.

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the location in Palmetto Dunes, the well-stocked kitchen, and the comfort of the bedrooms. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered, especially the refrigerator not working during the first part of your stay. That, along with the media room challenges and worn outdoor furnishings, understandably impacted your experience. We also appreciate your notes about the lack of seating for a larger group and the limited hot water—these are all helpful points that we’re actively reviewing. You're right—these are all fixable, and your input helps us prioritize updates that make a real difference for guests. We’re committed to providing a home that matches its setting and value, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back once these improvements are made.
