The Fisher family, who reside on the Amish farm across the street, are the proud owners and caretakers of this charming residence. Originally constructed in 1840 by early settlers seeking to establish themselves near Martinsville Village and Beaver Creek, this two-story dwelling was crafted from creek bed stone and surrounded by farmland. The rich soil, plentiful timber, water sources, and wildlife helped the settlers thrive.
Notably, it is one of the few surviving structures from the area`s earliest days, with the original well still standing beside it, thoughtfully safeguarded to prevent accidents.
During the 1890s, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company laid tracks through the villages and farms. The route remained active for nearly a century until its removal in the 1980s. The land was gradually returned to the farming families, and the Stone House`s property was the last to be repurchased. The bridge supports in the creek behind the home and the graded earth where the tracks once lay are a reminder of the railroad`s presence.
In the 1950s, an extension containing a kitchen and dining room was added to the Stone House, and in 2020, it underwent a complete renovation. After serving as a private vacation residence for two years, it was purchased by Isaac and Linda Fisher.
The Fishers extend a warm welcome to all visitors and are available to assist with any needs that may arise during your stay.
Guests have access to the property except for the nearby sheds. Beaver Creek is also accessible during times of low water but please be mindful of the steep slopes and slippery rocks. If the water is high or running fast please do not attempt to ford the stream. Fishing is allowed if you obtain a Pennsylvania fishing license. Please always be vigilant and take the highest safety precautions.
We are here to help if you need anything but will leave you to your privacy. Please reach out to Joshua, the property manager at the posted numbers or through Airbnb. In case of emergency always dial 911. The local fire department is only minutes away.

This is one of the nicest VRBO's we've ever stayed at. Clean, well-stocked (including extra linens, towels, and blankets), beautifully decorated, a helpful binder with local information (places to eat, emergency information, etc)... absolutely wonderful!! The garden is gorgeous and the creek peaceful and lovely. We hope to visit again!
We stayed at this property for 6 nights and it was wonderful. There were two couples in our traveling party. The kitchen and living room area are spacious and very comfortable. The master bedroom was large and accommodating. The other two bedrooms were a tad small, but it worked out that we used one for sleeping and the third bedroom to store our luggage. The property and surrounding areas are beautiful. Overall, a great place to stay.
There is no better place stay. Nothing negative about the place. Has everything you could possibly need and then some. Homemade snacks when you check in......cannot get that service at a local hotel!
We had a great time staying here while we visited the Lancaster area and the Sight and Sound theater. The owners live across the street and are very nice hosts. Highly recommended.
This house was absolutely charming and beautiful! It was such a relaxing environment and brought restoration to the soul. Everything was beautifully maintained. Getting to chat with the owner was an added blessing!
We enjoyed this property very much! Clean, comfortable and peaceful. Wonderful surroundings, babbling creek, large trees and the owner's magnificent garden!
Perfect taste of Lancaster County Charm. My wife and I are born and bred Lancastrians. Moved away 12 years ago. Staying at the Historic House on Beaver Creek brought us back to the simple beauty and peace of Lancaster County. Great place to stay and unwind.
Beautiful Home in a Beautiful Location. The Creek behind the home was a bonus. So Peaceful to visit daily during our stay. The Grounds are Magnificent. The House is well kept and has practically everything you need for a get away. If you truly love the Peaceful side of Lancaster Pa, this is the spot. Plenty of Horse Drawn Buggies drive by throughout the course of the day and evenings. We were welcomed with a Homemade Loaf of Bread and Freshly Churned butter aling with a Dozen Fresh Brown Eggs placed in the Refrigerator. Perfect for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
