Guesthouse - Studio cottage in the woods

Nestled on a quiet “no thru traffic” street, this older, full of charm, studio-style cottage is on a rural 3-acre property, located down a bumpy dirt driveway back in a wooded setting. We also live on the property and our home is very close to the guesthouse. Please see photo I have included to show how close the homes are to each other.

We offer:
• a full kitchen (no microwave or dishwasher)
• futon for third guest (ideal for a child)
• queen-sized memory foam mattress
• stackable washer/dryer
• a 43” television with a Roku (see more info below) and basic channels.

We are:
12 minutes from downtown Havana.
24 minutes from I-10.
30 minutes from Thomasville, GA.
33 minutes from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
34 minutes from Tallahassee Airport.
35 minutes from FSU.
38 minutes from FAMU.

Please note that the cottage is studio-style. There is no wall separation between bed, living area, and kitchen.

Things to know:
Fun fact: in the 90’s and early 2000’s this guesthouse was an art studio and art classes commenced inside. The artist, Darlene, still has a gallery in Havana, called D. Arthur McBride Portrait Studio and Gallery. The cottage is very close to our home. We take your privacy seriously and allow you to control how much interaction occurs after the key is provided to you. We want you to be comfortable!

There is a Roku available that you can log into with your passwords.

We recommend bringing sturdy shoes to wear and bug spray if you plan to spend time outside. We are located in a wooded setting and the ground is uneven with lots of tree roots. **if you or anyone in your party have mobility/stability issues, this will not be a good fit. The ground is very uneven and there are stairs to access the guesthouse.**

House Rules:

Initial check-in is from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Maximum stay is limited to 15 nights.

No smoking, e-cigs, or vaping permitted in the cottage or on the property.

Maximum 2 pets. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the cottage, unless we have spoken directly about your pet being off leash.

Before you book: we are approximately 15 minutes from the closest grocery store. (Informing you now in case you want to save a trip and stop before checking in)

We provide k-cup coffee, tea and excellent filtered well water. Most of the time we also provide fresh chicken eggs, but chickens lay seasonally and eggs are not always available (feel free to message me prior to booking to confirm egg availability!).

Lastly, your host, Lindsey, attends school and is gone during select weekends in the fall and spring semesters. In her absence, her husband, Elliott will greet you at check-in. We will communicate this to you ahead of time so you are aware who will be here when you arrive.
