Your eye is caught, and your senses overwhelmed, when you enter The Step Lodge

Welcome to our well appointed and recently updated Suttons Bay lake home. This private wooded lake front property was purchased by our grandparents in the 1950s and we are thrilled to be able to share it with you. Every bedroom is spacious and offers a view of Grand Traverse Bay aside from the bunk room. Some of the unique ameneties are a stand alone private office space, state of the art infinity deck that comfortably seats fourteen, stamped concrete patio with underdeck lighting, ADA compliant steps that lead to the beach, comfortable mattresses in all bedrooms, high end ping pong and shuffleboard tables, regulation size Mega Slam basketball hoop with free throw and three point lines (it can be lowered to 7 1/2 feet) and a custom made cornhole game. The Step Lodge features five smart TVs, Spectrum cable package and 1000 megabit per second internet with Google Nest to enhance connectivity. Although you feel like you are secluded, downtown Suttons Bay is 2.5 miles away. The Step offers a mooring bouy to secure your boat and a Jet Dock that can accommodate two personal water craft. The Suttons Bay boat launch is located on the North edge of town. Along with the full size refrigerator in the kitchen, our guests are welcome to use the full size overflow refrigerator and freezer located in the garage. A concrete driveway was added to accomodate up to 6 vehicles. This allows the basketball court to be utilized without parked cars being an issue. Last but not least, we recently installed air conditioning and the Step has an automatic generator in the event of a power outage.

Our family really enjoyed this place!! Beautiful, clean and on the water!! The host is a great communicator and willing to help whenever needed. Short trip to cute little town of Sutton’s Bay. Great location between Traverse City and Leland. My grandchildren want to go back to this same house next time.

The Step Lodge was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. It was well supplied with anything we could possibly need. Beach chairs, beach towels, kitchen supplies and dishes, etc., plenty of comfortable seating for eating and lounging. It was a perfect fit for our family. Amazing Bay Access

We loved the step lodge. Perfect location. Water is gorgeous. Nightly fires on the beach with the kids. The house it self is large and open perfect for families. A short drive to TC but we didn’t even need to leave house as the view was perfect. Morning coffee with a sunrise is hard to beat!

Location location location!

Had an amazing large family vacation at the Step Lodge! You are 15-20 minutes from little day trips when you want to venture out. When you choose to stay in the house is well equipped for making large meals, playing basketball, shuffleboard tournaments (host even left instructions), ping pong and bags! You can tell the thoughtfulness, time and energy put into making this a wonderful place for all to enjoy.

The Greatest House!

This was the perfect home for our extended family vacation. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The deck was great for meals, enjoying early morning coffee or evening wine with a fabulous view of the lake. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals together and town is close for eating out and shopping. So many close day trips to enjoy, and then family board games, corn hole and ping pong at night. We couldn’t have had a better stay. Definitely recommend this gem!

The Michigan Retreat

This is by far the nicest, cleanest, most amazing property we have ever rented in upper Michigan. Our family enjoyed the property so much, we had trouble getting the kids to leave to go do other activities. Last year we stayed at another rental that was in the same price range and there was no comparison. We will be scheduling our next Michigan trip around this property is availability. A relaxing home with a view

Our family had a great week. The owner was a pleasure to work with. The house is updated and extremely clean. The kitchen had everything you can think of. The bedrooms were set up nicely and the beds were comfortable. The view from both balconies were breathtaking and the view from the dock was even better. We had the best time at this rental. Communication was great and our expectations were exceeded. The host was kind enough to let us check in earlier than usual. The property had everything you could need and more! We had a large group including 2 babies 2 little kids and there was ample room for everyone to have their own space. The views were awesome. We enjoyed having fires on the beach and all the supplies was there and ready for us! We seriously could not have asked for a better place for a family trip. The property was so clean (shocking considering it is literally surrounded by sand and rocks). We played basketball, rock hunted on the beach, grilled out, sat and watched the sunrise, waded in the water.. truly a great end of summer getaway.

An amazing stay! We had a group of 12, from littles on up, and everyone enjoyed their stay. The house is immaculate (and I’m picky). The best stocked vacation home we have ever rented. There are two decks and two living rooms, perfect for groups of varying sizes and ages. Well maintained stairs to the beach. Beach is sandy and rocky which delighted the kids and the rock hunters among us. Fire pit and chairs at the beach were used nightly. The host was great at communicating. One of our favorite stays ever.

Suttons Bay Gem

From the time we turned off of M-22 we were instantly in vacation mode. While not far from town, this house is a secluded oasis with views of the water from almost anywhere in the house. My family of 8 adults and 3 teens thoroughly enjoyed our stay with morning coffees on the deck, afternoon basketball games and happy hours at the dock. The evening Ping Pong games and shuffleboard competitions created lots of laughs. The house is spacious, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for all your cooking needs. This house is top notch and a place i look forward to staying at again!
