About this property

Steps to a private beach in a classic Cape cottage. Pet-friendly!

Cozy and rustic--experience the best of old Cape Cod steps away from a private Nantucket Sound beach. Grandma's Cottage sits on the ocean side of famous Chase’s Ocean Grove cottage colony so you will probably find yourself at the beach a lot during your visit. To that end, the cottage is furnished with a gas grill, beach chairs, beach cart, and even a cooler. With a strong cabin vibe, it is the perfect affordable beach-side getaway. While the 4 double beds *can* sleep up to 8 people, they are bunk-style, and our happiest guests report that it is most comfortable for up to 4 people. Note: COG has a shared electric service which prohibits us from having AC :(. However, we do supply multiple fans. Walk to ice cream spots, kids' activities, and multiple breakfast spots. Also just down the beach is the bougie Pelham House with its fabulous menu & view, pool bar, and beachside fire pits. Pets are welcome at Grandma's cottage and , but please follow the pet guidelines published in our welcome guide.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please put all trash in big bins in shed.
Remember to tuck the beach bracelets back in the binder.
Close the deck umbrella, please. And if you have a minute, will you water the potted plant(s) outside?
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
DOG RULES: Dog sitter available! Strict no dogs on the beach, dogs ALWAYS on a leash, dogs not to be left in cottage over 3 hrs
BEACH ACCESS: Beach bracelets are required for using the association beach. If not in binder pick up at COG office

I love tiny living and this was the perfect tiny cottage gettaway! Beach is just a short walk, the cottage community is adorable and the hosts were timely with their communication! Will definitely book again!

The cottage was so cute and just the right size. I loved the vaulted ceiling. It was stocked with just about everything you would need to enjoy your self. I would definitely book another stay!!! The only thing that would improve it would be a little A/C for those hot and humid days.

Cape Cod Escape

A lovely quaint little cottage near the beach really set the stage for our Cape Cod adventures. The place is small, but that didn't bother out group. The rustic outdoor shower was a new experience for the teenagers. The ocean breezes & fans kept the place cool in the evenings despite not having A/C. For an authentic Cape Cod experience, I would definitely recommend this place.

Great stay!

We had a great time at Grandma's cottage! The cottage is little but was perfect for our family and had everything we needed. It is steps from the beach, has great outdoor space, and is in a very cute community. Our hosts were very kind and responsive. We hope to visit again next year!

Very clean with most necessity items provided, but not particularly good for seniors. No heat. Limited electrical outlets. No working light in one bedroom. Outdoor shower. Good for younger families with primary aim of being near the beach. Regard it as an adventure, and it’ll be fine.

Fun Summer Getaway

Quaint cottage, perfect location steps from the beach.

Enjoyed our time here. The. Eat part was being able to walk 3 min to the beach. The community was lively and quintessential Cape Cod Americana, The only issue was parking was really challenging and I had to live my car at one point to provide access to the maintenance garage. We also were not able to use the grill bc the propane was empty. Other than that I definitely recommend based on the location which was just perfect! The host reapplied quickly when we needed them as well.

Cute, rustic cottage in friendly beachfront community

Loved our week at this classic Cape Cod dog friendly cottage. Tiny and compact, with everything we needed, and a quick walk to the beach with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Closest beach doesn't allow dogs but two public beaches that allow dogs after Labor Day are a 10 min walk away. Host was very helpful and accommodating, and neighbors and residents very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return!

Beach at your fingertip!

This was a quaint cabin only steps from the beach. The amities were great and so was the communication with the owners. One of our days we had rain and they thought to send us rainy day activities. We had so much fun. I would recommend this cottage to any of my friends and the support of the owners was amazing.

Quaint cottage with a lot of charm!

The space is small but the setup allows for maximum utilization. When you’re on vacation, you’re supposed to be outside. If you just need a place to rest your head, this spot is perfect. Chase’s Ocean Grove is an adorable little community, and the beach is super clean and beautiful - not to mention just steps away from the property. Perfect for myself, my wife and our little pup! 10/10 recommend!

Little cottage that's big on charm!

We recently stayed there for a week on the shoulder season this fall. First few days were cold and rainy, but putting a kettle on kept the place comfortable and warm. Even provided extra blankets for cold nights. We had everything we needed right there and sat outside on sunny days and even got in a beach day when the weather got into the 70's later in the week. Central to the Cape and steps away from the ocean, made for a lasting memory for us and our puppy!

Cape Cod 2024 back to Dennisport

Great Cape Cod cottage few minutes walk to the beach. Well stocked with supplies for cooking and grilling. We did have an issue with the water heater not working so the owner delivered to us a large bottle of wine and set us up in a hotel for the night . We got to have a little vacation from vacation with air conditioning and a pool. Great location for beach lovers to be able to visit the beach anytime of day. Very quaint cottage. Thanks

Beach Week

We had a great week at the cottage. The location was great (a minute to the beach and close to restaurants etc...) and the cottage had numerous items for the beach (chairs, beach towels, cart). There is a nice deck but the yard could use some sprucing up as it was slightly overgrown with weeds. Most suitable for familes with younger kids as the top bunks are small. Also there is no AC (but several fans are provided) and the shower is outside.

Great location!

Could use some updates and repairs but overall a nice cottage close to the ocean / beach, shopping and restaurants. Outdoor shower was great and nice hot water! Furniture in living space could be better. More comt seating and the table and chairs inside weren't needed and just took up space. Extra countertop would be good as it was hard to cook and the stove needs to be leveled. Some kind of high top bar with stools would have been great and a different arrangement with the living room furniture. The beds were comfy. andots of great

Grandma’s Cottage

We had such a good time at Grandma’s cottage. It is truly 2-3 minutes from the beach. The kitchen fit all of our food and we used the grill. It is definitely small so be prepared. My granddaughters loved sleeping in the loft and my daughter, my husband and I were fine with the bedrooms. The only downside was the lack of seating in the living room area. My husband brought his soccer chair so that was a big help. My only suggestion is an upgrade on the outside shower, it needs a shelf and easier access from the kitchen. New surround? Slate? The neighborhood was so much fun! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We received great recommendations for restaurants. We loved our visit!

Grandmas cottage

I have used vrbo.com several times except this time I had problems with the pictures of the cottage they were deceiving, looked larger than it was. Our party consisted of 4 adults, my husband and I, my friend and handicapped son. My son was unable to use the buck beds because he was unable to climb and the couch was a love seat that did not open for a bed, so he slept with me. There was not enough room for 4 suit cases of clothes, no dresser’s. We were going to cook several meals and use the grill which was filthy. The refrigerator was of good size. I could not fathomed 6 adults sleeping and using this cottage especially if everyone had to stay inside due to increment weather. Our group stayed one night and paid for seven. We were able to find another cottage larger and near the beach and a lot less expensive. I was very disappointed with this cottage.

Chase's Ocean Grove is an 80-year-old compound full of families who come back year after year. It is a bare foot/flip flop/casual community of friendly folk, but you are only minutes away from fine dining, great entertainment, ocean vistas, and everything that a beach vacation should be.

What makes this property unique

Chase’s Ocean Grove is full of folks who want to have an authentic old Cape Cod experience. Like all the cottages here, it has a strong cabin vibe, with the beds tucked into one end of the cottage, separated from the living space by just a thick curtain. Unlike the other cottages, it has a private, mostly fenced-in backyard. Many of the residents have been coming back for three and four generations. The beach on Nantucket Sound is private to the Grove and a one minute walk away.
