Beautiful custom built lakeside cabin completed in the spring of 2023.

Built by the owner John, The Sheehan Lakehouse is located in Mountain Lakes New Hampshire at the base of the white mountains. The cabin was constructed to suit and enhance its beautiful surroundings and features big windows and a back deck overlooking a splendid vista of the lake. The interior is full of precision woodworking, artisanal craftsmanship & custom accents.

This property is great for anyone who loves pond recreation and nature. The back yard is landscaped for ease of access and includes a firepit, a fully equipped shed and a private dock leading out into the waterfront. Mountain Lake is an excellent place for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming in the summer. You are not required to have a fishing license to fish at Mountain Lake! Guests may also access the Mountain Lakes District Beach, swimming pool and playground down the street.

Close to multiple ski areas within 30 minutes. Gas fireplace on upper deck, Wireless internet, cable tv, washer & dryer. Parking for 2 vehicles.15 minutes away from all amenities; gas, grocery store, restaurants etc.

One of the best!

We have stayed in several VRBO properties and this one was in the top 2. It was a great location for what we wanted to do in the area and enough to keep us occupied at the house. It was very clean, cute decorations, great layout for a family of 4, the lake was wonderful for fishing and the campfire was perfect for cooking dinner one night. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

Lake front stay

We really enjoyed the chalet, super clean and very new. The lake is so peaceful and beautiful, we spent so much time on the balcony with the kiddos looking at the water. Wish the weather cooperated a bit more so we could enjoy the fire pit area but it was still really nice. I’d recommend this place as a quiet retreat or as an option during the ski season for sure. Thanks for having us!

First, the cabin is beautiful you can see a lot of details on the walls, floors, stairs, doors, bathroom, kitchen cabinet, balcony, patio, and windows. John's Cabin offers everything from towels, Kitchen, and internet. I was able to work from there. He offers Kayak and a pedal boat with lifesavers and a BBQ grill. My family and I had a wonderful summertime. Also, everything was super clean. We really enjoy our holiday vacation. Ready to plan our next holiday in John's Cabin.

The wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Sheehan family Lakehouse. Check in was easy and the host was very available for any questions or issues. The house is just beautiful inside and out. Main bedroom w/queen by the bathroom then two twins and another queen bed in the loft. The kitchen is well laid out and met our needs. The grounds are beautiful but I will tell you that it's pretty steep from the house down to the lake so take a walking stick. There's a little shed by the lake that holds accessories for the kayaks, and ready to fish fishing poles with tackle even. There was even worms in the little refrigerator. The location is a central location to visit Mount Washington and the surrounding National parks, which made a great day trip. We had great meals at the Forest Pub, Shiloh's. There is a great little country store very close to the cabin which is closer than going into town. We had a wonderful four nights at this property.

The Mountain Lakes district is an excellent community with access to a clean and well managed lake and municipal recreation areas. Purchasing the lot on Mountain Lake presented an inspiring opportunity to build another lakehouse after selling (in 2010) a previous lakeside house he built.
