About this property
Casa Nidito: The Magical Nest
Summary:
Step into Casa Nidito a magical sanctuary for wind chasers, nature, and water lovers. This private property provides a peaceful well located home base to explore La Ventana and its surroundings. Casa Nidito gracefully invites guests to slow down and connect with this unique desert environment and themselves. A great place to relax and enjoy. From the rooftop terrace and kitchen, guests can see colorful kites in the Winter windy season and pods of Dolphins, Whales, and Manta rays in the Summer.
The Space:
Casa Nidito is a spacious, thoughtful, and casual private property that offers two bedrooms with separate entrances with en suite bathrooms. Enjoy dinner and drinks from the rooftop terrace and kitchen that feature sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez, the Cardone forest, and nearby mountains.
Nidito boasts two large murals from visionary Contemporary Artist Christian Abusaid. Using wind as a metaphor, Abusaid´s work challenges us to think beyond the conventional and pushes us to question the very essence of beauty and the unseen beyond the veil, connect with higher wisdom, and evokes a sense of oneness.
The home has a Starlink and there are dedicated working spaces on both the rooftop and in each bedroom to balance relaxation with productivity. Bedrooms are also climate controlled (AC for the summer and Heating in the Winter).
Spring flowers explode on the property in April, making it an ideal place for morning bird watching.
Casa Nidito and its nearby beaches are a paradise for both dogs and dog lovers. Your pets will feel at home roaming this expansive private property.
Guest Access:
A secure lock box ensures smooth arrival to Casa Nidito.
Casa Nidito´s property manager/ concierge is available during daylight and early evening hours to answer any questions.
We are available 24/7 to assist you throughout your stay for urgent needs.
Casa Nidito´s concierge can also help arrange local outings. If there is anything we can do to help you feel at home in our desert paradise, please do not hesitate to ask!
The Neighborhood:
La Ventana is a small coastal town located in Baja California Sur, Mexico, known for its world-class kiteboarding and windsurfing conditions. It is situated on the eastern shore of the Sea of Cortez, just south of La Paz. The town has a relaxed and laid-back vibe, with a mix of local Mexican and international expat residents.
The main street in La Ventana is lined with small shops, restaurants, and accommodations, ranging from simple guesthouses to luxurious villas. The town is surrounded by stunning desert landscapes, with cactus forests and rocky hillsides that provide a dramatic backdrop for the sea and sky.
Visitors to La Ventana come primarily for the excellent kiteboarding and windsurfing conditions, with steady winds and flat, shallow waters that are ideal for beginners and experts alike. There are several kiteboarding and windsurfing schools in town, as well as rental shops and equipment retailers.
Overall, La Ventana is a charming and friendly community that offers a unique combination of adventure sports and natural beauty, making it a popular destination for those seeking an active and outdoor-focused vacation.
Getting Around:
La Ventana is best enjoyed by bicycle, motorcycle, or car as points of interest and local establishments are spread across one long main road.
Mountain bikes can be rented from various shops in town and rental cars can be found in La Paz and the Cabo international airport.
It's worth noting that beyond La Ventana´s main thoroughfare, roads are unpaved and are bumpy (as is the road toward Casa Nidito). It's advisable to drive slowly and carefully, especially if you are not familiar with the area. Guests are advised to take caution on the road between La Ventana and La Paz and avoid driving at night between these two points when possible as cows are often on the road.
Additionally, beach access and launch points, and viewpoints require a four-wheel drive vehicle with sufficient clearance.
Other Things to Note:
*Smoking is not permitted on the property.
*Pets are welcome.
*Additional cleaning fee applies for stays over five days and can be paid directly to housekeeping or Casa Nidito´s Manager/ Concierge in Mexican Pesos.
*It is important to note that Baja California is a cash economy, and it is useful to have cash on hand before entering town (as La Ventana´s ATM machines are not reliably working).
Interaction with Guests:
We are available 24/7 to assist you throughout your stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us via text, phone call, or email if you have any questions, concerns or need any assistance. We will be more than happy to help you in any way we can.
