You get what you pay for. This motel room was a bargain deal, but the rooms were not as pictured on VRBO. Neither room we were offered upon check-in had the barn door for privacy in the second bedroom. Hardware was broken and hanging off the walls. The host Josh was very accommodating in letting us switch from room 108 to room 109 since the bedroom door opening offered slightly more privacy. He failed to mention that there wasn’t a working light in the bedroom, however, which was a frustrating surprise at bedtime. The ceiling fixture was broken, and the wall mounted lamp had a frayed wire with no plug. The property appears to be poorly maintained, and by someone not familiar with basic maintenance. After seeing the condition of the barn doors and the wall mounted TV, we were a bit nervous that the shelf over our heads was going to come crashing down on us in the middle of the night. TV took some finessing to work since the cable box connections were not great. Temperature of AC and fridge were not adjustable. On the plus side, this is a great location convenient to International Falls, Rainier, and the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. The water was hot and air-conditioning was cold, and everything was very clean.
