Historic 1915 2BR · No Pet Fees · Central Location
Welcome to The Willow Suite — a two-bedroom apartment tucked into the rear of a lovingly restored 1915 home in Ridgedale, one of Chattanooga’s most historic neighborhoods. You’ll have your own private entrance, and downtown is just 10 minutes away.
Here’s our why: we’re an architect and a landscape architect, and we could have bought in a tidy suburb. We chose Ridgedale instead — because we love old, walkable, urban neighborhoods, and we’d rather help one revitalize than watch from a cookie-cutter cul-de-sac. We bought this 1915 house, brought it back to life room by room, and lived in it ourselves. The result is a home crafted by two people who care about how spaces feel, in a neighborhood we’re genuinely invested in.
We think that comes through in the details. We hope you feel it.
One honest note before you book: this is a 110-year-old house, and part of its charm is that it hasn’t been flattened into a generic rental. The floors creak. The windows can be drafty in winter. Heating and cooling run through a shared central system with window units in the bedrooms — comfortable, but not hotel-precise. If you love character, you’ll feel right at home. If you need everything perfectly uniform, this may not be your place.
MAIN LEVEL - Private rear entrance — climb three steps to the stoop and step directly into the kitchen Fully equipped kitchen (and the most charming tile floor in the house)
- Living area with cozy seating, a desk, and flat screen TV
- Full bathroom stocked with complimentary Public Goods toiletries
UPSTAIRS — TWO BEDROOMS, SLEEPING SIX - First bedroom: queen bed and twin daybed with trundle — sleeps up to four
- Second bedroom: queen bed Both rooms: window units for heating and cooling, closets, windows with blinds and curtains
- Memory foam mattresses and custom headboards in Turkish fabric
- Vestibule between the bedrooms: full-length mirror, extra linens, water carafe, and commonly forgotten toiletry items

- No fenced yard, but two small parks are within a few blocks
- Dogs left alone in the unit must be crated Pet blankets are provided — please use them on the furniture
BOOKING THE WHOLE HOUSE - Willow Front, our three-bedroom companion home at the front of this same house, can be booked alongside this listing

- Ideal for multigenerational travel, two families, or groups who want proximity without sharing a living room

It was perfect for our short trip to Chattanooga! It was close to everything which was great and everything was well kept. Would definitely stay here again!
Highly recommend this home! It was very convenient for us as we were visiting Redemption To The Nations Church for thier Wild Ones Conference. Cozy and Clean. We will definitely plan to stay here again!
Wonderful host with great communication and a beautiful property! Loved the convenience, easy check in and out, and the great price for family comfort versus a hotel.

We love this old house and caring for it! Glad you had a nice stay with us and found our services more than met your needs. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
This property is beautiful! It was very clean. And the beds were comfortable. Parking is a little tight when theres multiple vehicles in the alleyway but its still easily accessible. We had a little hiccup with internet being down but Michelle was so sweet! She was quick to respond & kept us updated on the progress of fixing it. It was working the next day. My family loves this house & we will definitely be staying here again!
We loved the house! It worked great for our family of six. It was close to downtown and within walking distance to a coffee shop and a couple of shops. I loved how easy it was to check out too.

Glad you frequented our little neighborhood cafe and attached shop, they're such lovely people! And thank you so much for your kind words. Glad you and your family had a great visit to Chattanooga. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
Cute renovation on an older home. The bathroom being downstairs with the bedrooms upstairs was a little tricky with young children but overall nice and well-stocked. The corner lot was unfortunately pretty loud with traffic (even with a sound machine) but thankfully the road traffic died down around midnight. Would stay again

Glad you had a nice stay with us, we strive to be highly responsive and I'm glad you appreciated that. Hope to see you again sometime, we’ll leave a light on for you :-)
The rental was very clean on the interior. It is a great kitchen. Bed was soft and comfortable. The curb appeal is a D minus. Trash cans, weeds around the patio and picnic table, and frequent noise/sirens were bothersome. Being a single female, and finding out that the owners were not in residence as advertised, I felt less than safe in this neighborhood.
Nice, clean and comfortable property. As they indicate in their listing it is on a busy street. They welcome pets and there is a nice yard for pets to get outside under supervision.Home is well cared for. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is on the first level which is good to be aware of.Easy drive to the areas of Chattanooga you want to visit.Very responsive and easy to communicate with.

About the host
Hosted by Melissa Graveline
We're Kurt and Melissa, a landscape architect and architect who renovated this 1915 brick home and lived in the front apartment for three and a half years while hosting guests in the guest suite. Melissa fell in love with the architectural form of the building and found a clever way to create a guest suite that works beautifully. Kurt continues to spend time slowly building out the garden, which has become something of a neighborhood landmark. We know this house intimately, and we're always reachable if you need anything.
Why they chose this property
Ridgedale drew us in before we fully understood why. It has the bones of a great neighborhood — tree-lined streets, genuine architectural character, a mix of people, and an energy that feels like something is happening here. This house was the entry point for us. We bought it, renovated it, lived in it, made friends, and put down roots here. We love old, walkable, urban neighborhoods, and we’d rather help one revitalize than watch from a cookie-cutter cul-de-sac. The neighborhood isn't just where we work and host, it's where we're raising our family. We think you'll feel what we felt when you get here.
