About this property
Site 15 Trapper Glamping Bunkie Small Urban Farm
Enjoy a glamping vacation at our urban farm resort in the woods, just a mile from downtown Kenora. Our "Hunter" bunkie sleeps four, includes a mini fridge-freezer, BBQ, heater/air conditioning, picnic table, use of paddleboards, kayaks, canoe.
No indoor plumbing - Shower House (mid-May-Sep) nearby. Outhouse year-round.
We are surrounded by Boreal forest trails, and Rabbit Lake is a 3-minute hike. Farm animals. We are ideal for quiet families (not a party spot). Check-in 3-6pm. Read the FULL ad!
**BUNKIE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WILL BE OPEN IN 2023. PHOTOS WILL BE UPDATED WHEN IT'S DONE. SEE SITE 3 AND SITE 18 PHOTOS FOR AN IDEA OF INTERIOR FINISHING AND LAYOUTS**
Want to experience comfortable camping in a tiny log cabin? Enjoy glamping (glamorous camping) in a new tiny sleep bunkie. Site 15 bunkie theme is "Trapper". Approx 108 sq ft plus sleep loft ~55 sq ft. Roofed deck and outdoor furniture add outdoor living space. Built in 2023.
No indoor plumbing, but the new campground shower house with flush toilets (built 2022) is about 150 ft away down the lane (open mid-May to Sept). Or, the super cute outhouse (year-round) and outdoor shower (mid-May to Sept) are about 500 ft away, down a hilly, gravelled path. Flashlight provided for after dark visits to the facilities.
We are an ideal spot for eco-friendly families and retirees who want to share and enjoy our peaceful atmosphere, with a comfy spot to sleep after a day of outdoor adventures. (Not a party spot.) Quiet time 10pm-7am.
Our acreage is right in the city, and it is fenced and the gated for peace of mind.
Check in is 3-6 pm, during daylight hours, to get a lay of the land, as Kenora is in the rugged Canadian Shield. Gates are locked around 8 pm (guests get the code/key at check-in). Quiet time 10pm-7am.
Use of kayaks, paddleboards, canoe included - a great value. Firewood is also free. Fire pit beside the bunkie, and more fire pits and picnic tables are in the common areas. Electric fireplace inside the bunkie can be set to heat or no-heat.
The Trapper Bunkie sleeps 4. It has a king bed on the main floor, plus a double mattress in the loft. Bring your own bedding and towels, or rent our linen packs.
If you have additional guests, book a second cabin! Site 16 Logger is right next door, making it ideal for group camping.
Site 15 “Trapper” Bunkie includes access to the full tiny cabin with loft and covered deck, BBQ, fire pit, parking for 1 passenger vehicle beside the cabin.
Shared access to: water hose near the cabin; shower house with flush toilets and the outdoor shower (open mid-May to Sept), outhouse (open year-round), visits with the farm animals and horses; group fire pit area and free firewood; free use of kayaks, paddle boards, canoe; campground library of books, games & puzzles; paid laundry facilities.
Public access to: surrounding forest trails and small natural sand beach (3 min hike).
We live on site and are available if needed. Also available by phone 8am to 8pm.
Our vacation rentals, seasonal camper sites and small farm right are in the heart of Kenora. You will drive through a residential neighbourhood, then enter our woodsy acreage.
We are a mile to all amenities, but have all the perks of country living. Plus, quiet Rabbit Lake is only a 3 minute hike, for a quick dip. Or, take a 20 minute hike through public Boreal Forest to get to Garrow Beach, with pickleball courts, rowing club and a large beach and docks. WINTER: snowmobile, ski or snowshoe right from your cabin door.
One block to city bus stop. We are an urban farm only one mile from downtown Kenora, so food deliveries are available, unlike more distant campgrounds.
Please read the FULL AD, including amenities and rules. Before booking, guests are required to read, understand and agree to our full ad and the Guest Guide - link will be sent after you send your booking inquiry. It is very thorough, and should answer any questions you might have. If not, we will be happy to provide more information.
Kenora is a popular spot - Winnipeg's cottage country. Compare our prices to other vacation destinations in the area, and you will see we are competitive, especially since firewood, kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, farm visits are INCLUDED. Those extras could add up to $100 to 200 a day or more, a la carte.
Up to two pets are allowed - $40 fee per stay - but MUST be friendly, kept quiet and controlled, and away from farm and horse areas for insurance and safety reasons. Absolutely no aggressive, fearful or reactive animals allowed.
Guests need the ability to climb steps without hand rail to enter the bunkie. To use the loft, guests need to climb a log ladder. Guests need to walk 100 ft on the gravel lane to the summer shower house, or hike a hilly, uneven, gravel trail to the year-round outhouse.
If you require a cabin that is more accessible check Site 16 Logger Bunkie, next door.
Thank you for your inquiry, and we look forward to hosting you!
