About this property
NEW! Nature's Nook Peaceful Cottage Close to All
Welcome to Nature's Nook! This 1940's era cottage is situated on a real working cranberry bog - it doesn't get more Cape Cod than this! One of two cottages on the bog, you will enjoy peaceful natural surroundings centrally located in Falmouth. Just minutes from beaches, restaurants, golfing and other activities, you can have it all! Enjoy 2 bedrooms and 1 bath with a newly renovated kitchen area, outdoor picnic table, and washer/dryer.
The space
Classic Cape Cod! This is a bright and cheerful 2 bedroom, 1 bath 1940s-era cottage situated alongside a working cranberry bog. With recent renovations, you will love its cozy modern vibe. The best part is you can enjoy the quiet tranquility of the bog and surrounding nature while still being within minutes of all the Cape has to offer! Wake up to the sounds of native songbirds and fall asleep to the chirping frogs outside your window. Hike one of the nearby nature trails or hop in the car for a short ride to bustling Main Street Falmouth or the Barnstable County Fair Grounds!
The cottage has an outdoor picnic area and BBQ. Similar to most of Cape Cod, you will need a car to get around the area.
The Nook is:
- 10 minutes to Main Street Falmouth
- 5 minutes to Barnstable County Fair Grounds
- 10 minutes to Mashpee Commons
- 15 minutes to Woods Hole / Martha's Vineyard Ferry
- 10 minutes to multiple beautiful white sand Cape beaches (see map in photos)
Guest access
Guests will have access to the cottage as well as the outdoor dining area. Guests are not to walk on or trample the Bog.
Other things to note
Autumn is an especially wonderful time to visit Nature's Nook! Cranberry harvest typically happens over 1-2 days at the end of October or early November. This is weather dependent and so while we cannot guarantee that the harvest will occur on a specific date, book a stay and try your luck to witness this amazing piece of local culture. Please note, our bog workers use equipment that is over 100 years old and use a method called "dry harvesting."
If you cannot visit in the fall, each season offers a unique experience at the Bog. Come in January when the temperatures are below freezing to enjoy winter solitude at the Bog. Springtime brings native birds and flowers, while in the summer enjoy warm evenings outside enjoying the calm serenity.

About the host
Hosted by Jake
I purchased this 3 acre property (with 3 houses on it) in 2004 - because there is no other property like it. The appraiser had to go out 25 miles to comp it, as there was no other 3 acre parcel with three houses on the River to comp it with. I had my daughter in 2009 and my son in 2012 and have found that we don't get to the Cape as much as we used to. I am an attorney and real estate Broker in Tucson AZ. We have about 40 or so rentals in AZ but these houses had been mostly used for our personal use over the years. We love to feed the ducks, who are always at our property (even in winter!) and sit and watch the river. With that said, it's only a couple of miles to Main Street and all the wonderful food and shopping it offers, and to any beach.
Why they chose this property
It is close to everything yet very peaceful. I love the uniqueness of the cranberry bog.
What makes this property unique
The house has the advantage of offering a safe and beautiful place for kids to play, because we are on a very large parcel away from any traffic, yet it is so close to everything. The cottage is on a private cranberry bog, which is very special!
