Land Acknowledgment
I am a guest on this ‘āina visiting for the purpose of relaxation and enjoyment.
I would like to begin by acknowledging that the ‘āina on which we gather, the ahupua`a of Hanalei, part of the moku of Halele‘a, is part of the larger territory recognized by Indigenous Hawaiians as their ancestral grandmother, Papahānaumoku.
I recognize that her majesty Queen Lili‘uokalani yielded the Hawaiian Kingdom and these territories under duress and protest to the United States to avoid the bloodshed of her people. I further recognize that Hawai‘i remains an illegally occupied state of America.
I recognize that each moment I am in Hawai‘i she nourishes and gifts me with the opportunity to breathe her air, eat from her soils, drink from her waters, bathe in her sun, swim in her oceans, be kissed by her rains, and be embraced by her winds. I further recognize that generations of Indigenous Hawaiians and their knowledge systems shaped Hawai‘i in sustainable ways that allow me to enjoy these gifts today. For this I am grateful and as a guest, I seek to support the varied strategies that the Indigenous peoples of Hawai‘i are using to protect their land and their communities, and I commit to dedicating time and resources to working in solidarity. Mahalo.

Super easy, super perfect. Great house, great location, no notes. Thanks so much, this is where I will come if I’m lucky enough to travel back to Kauai.
We have stayed at the “Yoga House” several times over the past 10 years. We love the 3/2 floorplan and outdoor shower too. Always enjoy relaxing on the back lanai as well. It’s a great vacation getaway.
It’s a beautiful home, very well kept, in a nice area. Meals in the lanai, waking up each morning to birds outside the windows, comfortable layout, well stocked and had everything we needed.
This was our fourth stay at the yoga house. This time for two weeks. This is a great place to stay. I always feel at home there. The owner is great to deal with and the house is as advertised. If you are looking for a big house in a nice neighborhood, you can't go wrong here! Aloha.
We had a fantastic two week vacation at beautiful spacious yoga house. Great deal and super location for a large quiet group and the house was very well equipped. Easy check-in and very helpful host… our large nutty yoga family loved their stay!
Our family stayed for 10 days and had a great time! Things we enjoyed: large, open air central space with plenty of room for everyone; outdoor shower for the kids to rinse off after a day at the beach; boogie boards and beach chairs on the lanai which we used every day. This property is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks to go for a run. Hanalei Beach is about 10-15 min drive up the road and we spent a majority of time there. Lots of other beaches to check out on the north shore. We would definitely stay at this property again on our next trip to Kauai.
Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Great location of the island. Many outdoor items to assist with your beach adventures. A few dirty plates and towels but overall great place for family.

Hi Kenneth,
I'm glad that you were so comfortable in the house but I'm sorry to hear that everything was not perfect. I wish you would have told us during your stay so that we could have addressed it at the time.
We strive to provide a clean and welcoming environment but if we miss something we always welcome feedback.

About the host
Hosted by Laurel Moorhead
We bought this house in 2002 after searching for two years for a house that felt like it was made for Hawaii. We finally found this house and have been very happy with it. We improve it in some way each time we come, for example during the last trip we rebuilt the wheelchair ramp to the front deck, reupholstered the dining chairs and, replaced the screening on the outdoor shower. The house is a work in progress, it just keeps getting better. We are a family of four, with two daughters, including our older daughter who has a spinal cord injury. It was for her that we added the wheelchair ramp to the front porch, insisted on a single level floor plan, have made the master bathroom & shower wheelchair accessible. and have a shower bench that can be installed when needed.
Why they chose this property
We love Kaua'i. We have been coming regularly since 1994 and began looking for a house in 2000. We chose the North Shore because of the beauty of the area, the limited development, the easy access to beautiful beaches and hiking. We chose Princeville because of the accessibility to shopping, beaches and hikes. Grant loves to golf, Laurie walks for hours each day, Marissa loves to jump off the pier in Hanalei Bay and Sara likes to walk to the library and shoot hoops at the neighborhood basketball court.
