Living a life of luxury is vital to a perfect vacation, and our enchanting La Vista can help make it happen. You’ll be able to look out over the calm, cerulean ocean of Playa Cofresi and the verdant Pico Isabel de Torres from the main balcony which features the expansive pool and enough space to organize whatever function you have in mind for your time at La Vista. With room to comfortably sleep 12 people, this villa is an idyllic home to host your escape to the Caribbean.

You can pull right up to the first floor using the double carport and move into one of the seven bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, with a grand total of eight bathrooms for the entire villa. Every bedroom also includes a safe, cable television, a small refrigerator, internet access, air conditioning, and most have direct access to a balcony. The first level additionally has a service kitchen for the staff. The grounds of La Vista feature a tiki hut and a green space, which enable you to enjoy the diverse flora of Puerto Plata while keeping cool in the shade.

If you’ve ever wanted to attempt making Dominican tostones, chicharrón, or chimichurris, the fully equipped deluxe family kitchen located in the second story is the best place to do it. This level of La Vista also contains the exquisitely furnished living room, a foyer, a dining room that seats 10, and access to the esteemed main balcony. The wooden ceilings, white walls, and wide windows create a light, rustic, airy atmosphere that compels everyone who enters to throw the windows open and let the salty ocean breeze flow through the villa.

Great View but house needs updating

Spacious indoors and outdoors. Pool was fun but no hot tub, 15 minute walk to beach on very steep roadway. Hot water was erratic and completely off for 2 days. Roof leaked badly in living/dining room during rain. Poorly equipped for cooking. Bad odor in kitchen, and downstairs bath. Spanish a must to communicate with staff. Many repairs made after our requests others left undone.

Property was ok, but was a little run down

We were a bit disappointed that there were no contact numbers left at the house for us. None of the staff speak any English so we used our translator on our phones to converse. There were no beach/pool towels to use until we asked the maid for them. We have stayed at many VRBO's but this one wasn't at the top of the list. The A/C in the master bedroom did not work very well either. The view was very nice though and the pools were nice. The owner should really give directions to the house prior to travel.

Gorgeous views, comfy home

It was a lovely home and it looks like the listing. The views are as amazing as the pictures! It felt like a castle. Our only complaint was that when we first arrived, the mosquitoes were unbearable. They should have smoked the home out hours before we arrived to make it bearable because we expected mosquitoes in tropical environments. I got bit up so bad within seconds of entering the kitchen that both my feet swelled and i could not walk that day. Also the next day my eye was swelled shut from an overnight bite and no, im not allergic, it was just too many bites at once that caused the big reaction. The house manager and driver were both amazing, responsive, friendly and accomodating. We felt safe and taken care of at all times. Because the house was under 24 hr protection, our things were safe too. We recommend you have a chef come and cook for a few days. Americans may not be used to it.

Beautiful view, big house

Great stay, many rooms to sleep in. Pool was wonderful with a great view. The only thing I didn't like was all the staff coming and going. I was a little confused, who was who, and why they were there. I'm pretty sure 2 staff members live in the back. Not sure why 2 little girls were there either. It could have felt more private. Some romantic encounters were awkwardly interrupted. Would definitely stay again. Would also be excellent for many couples or a boys/girls trip or large family gatherings, as there is enough space to separate yourself if need be. Thx to the hosts, have fun with the security footage ;)

Family vacation

Loved the location of the home! Up on the mountain with the city and beach view. Loved the fast responses and attentively of all our matters. Besides the little things. Like low very low water pressure in the master primary suite , no heated pool, and the refrigerator not cooling enough. I was over-all happy with my stay.

La llave de la villa deben dársela a quien rente la villa, al día siguiente no teníamos formas de salir, estábamos encerrados. Sugiero que tengan un juego de llave para el que rente. El jacuzzi de la habitación 4 no funcionaba..

Fun Trip

This property was not as fancy as we expected but it turned out to be a great visit after all. When we arrived 3 of the 6 rooms were not completely available. This is because the AC's in these 3 rooms were broken so it was too hot to sleep in them. Also the pool was clean and pretty but only half full when we arrived. We had a group of 7 and there were plenty of beds in the other 3 rooms that did have AC for us to sleep in the 1st night. On day two the property manager Gus and the property owner arranged for two new AC to be installed which opened up two more rooms for the rest of the stay also they filled up the pool on day two. The only other major inconvenience was that there was no hot water so shower time was not that pleasant. Also several of the showers were not working because they were being renovated and I found it humorous that they had the big fancy jacuzzi tubs but no hot water so we couldn't use them. We spent a lot of time outside of the villa so all these inconveniences did not ruin our stay. Gus was the property manager and he was fabulous in translating and giving us all the info we needed to explore and enjoy the town and he also explained and scheduled all the excursions available here. Michelle was our housekeeper and cook and she was fabulous as well. We went into town the first day and bought groceries for the week and then I used google translate to write down for Michelle what meals to cook for the day while we were out of the villa playing and she had everything ready and prepared for us when we would return at meal times. Michelle was a really nice perk that we did not even know about until we arrived! I would stay here again even without hot water because it was worth it! We had so much fun. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an adventurous stay. We went horseback riding on a beautiful beach, we went mudding on doon buggies through the jungle to a small village and then to another beautiful beach, we went on a snorkeling excursion on a big sail boat and swam with hundreds of colorful tropical fish. My absolute favorite thing though was visiting and hiking and swimming the 27 waterfalls. I do not recommend the waterfalls for small children under about 6 years of age or elderly because it is quite physical but it was wonderful if you are physically able to do it. All in all I would encourage folks to stay here as it is a beautiful and comfortable property with loads of fun to be had out and about.

Absolutely amazing!

This was my first visit to this place along with my family. An excellent getaway to relax. At first I have to admit I was a bit concerned when booking this stay after reading some disappointing reviews. All I can tell you guys is that I don't regret the decision I made when booking this home and I am so happy and blessed to have stayed in this royal home. We were welcomed by the staff in a welcoming way, they were very attentive and wonderful to my children. The ambience and climate was excellent, very lovely and comfortable rooms the service was beyond my expectations. I am not one to write reviews but I had to on this one. I wouldn't hesitate to book this home again!

The description is accurate regarding the location and layout. The property was clean and well-maintained. My favorite part was the scenery the food and Jacuzzi tubs. View is magnificent. Amenities are not in working order. Very remote. Need car.

The description states 5 bedrooms and 7 baths. Let’s start with the bathrooms. I only ever found 6. There were 4 ensuites, 1 interior hall bath and a bath outside by the pool. The interior hall bath’s toilet did not work unless you removed the tank lid and fiddled the float. The caretaker ‘fixed’ it our first night and it would only work thereafter with aforementioned manual intervention. The ensuite to the bunk room toilet backed sewage into the bathroom and was locked for no use until end of stay. I guess if you didn’t have an ensuite you were supposed to go outside in the middle of the night to use a toilet. Now for the hot water: on day 2 of 10 the hot water stopped working. The caretaker fiddled with it and after a while got it working. Unfortunately we had a Christmas Eve party to get to and were subjected to cold showers. On day 4 the hot water failed again. The caretaker was on vacation so outside help was engaged. No hot water for day 4 and 5 until we engaged a plumber through family connections and paid him ourselves. By day 5, the first night of a full guest list, without knowing the longevity of the hot water fix, we moved into a hotel for the duration of our stay. The house is definitely not worth the view! We were in town to celebrate our son’s wedding. The house situation was a big negative. Oh, and the living room roof leaks too! Bad experience all the way around except for Christina, the housekeeper, who was a treasure (Google translator is a must) and tried very hard to coordinate fixes. Look elsewhere is my advice.

This was the best experience , the house is clean , lots of space , staff are very awesome and welcoming , it's a great place to go to with friends or family , I would defiantly be returning here. The beach is about a 5 minute walk, the pool is very clean . It's such a relaxing environment, the master bedroom is my favorite , although all rooms are beautiful. I recommend this villa to everyone , you won't regret it :) ❤️

Gorgeous Home with Amazing Staff

First let me say that the house is as beautiful as the pictures. The view however you must see in person to understand. The house is very spacious and up to date. The pool was very clean and continually maintained. The staff of Christina, Ricardo and Michelle were awesome. They helped with everything. There English is limited but many of us spoke enough spanish. Christina is a great cook and her food rivaled everywhere we ate aND was better than most. The house is a bit hard to find if using Google maps bit it there! 3 out of the 5 bedrooms were 5 star quality. The other 2 were clean just nothing special. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back next year. Thanks Jason and Dilenia for the lovely home and staff your arranged.

Great vacation

Had a really good vacation with me and my friends. Home owners are incredibly attentive with responding to emails at any time of the day or night. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Food costs are not cheap about the same price as shopping for food in the United states. Food that was cooked was good and impressed me and my friends. Felt very safe because the community of villas is a bit hidden on this hill over looking the beach, and we had a security guard at night. The walk to the beach is about 5-10 minutes and it is pretty steep. We rented out scooters which was really fun and went up and down with ease. Pool water could of been warmer that would of been excellent. If your looking for villas with 5 or more bedrooms this area is probably best according to one of the cab drivers, apparently there aren't many villas near the beach with that many bedrooms. Cab rides are a bit expensive, if you plan on visiting Sousa would recommend a rental, otherwise make sure you bargain with everybody since you probably can get a better price when your down there. Overall I would recommend this villa and it is probably the best vacation me and my friends have ever been on, we had a blast.

Great views, good service, but less than perfect.

First let me state that the home does indeed have perhaps the most exceptional views around. It is a lovely home , but a bit dated. The veranda was my absolute favorite part of the home. The staff were friendly and as helpful as possible! However, if you do not speak any Spanish, this is not the home for you. The staff has little to zero knowledge of the English language. There were issues with the home. For example, not enough ample lighting throughout (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.) Our Jacuzzi tub did not have a drain stopper that worked. Also in the master bath, there is no hot water for hand washing. The cold water leaked so badly from the supply line that it pooled all over the tile floor and I slipped! The staff was prompt in repairing this though. Also, the ceiling in the family room area leaked one evening during a rain and we had to find tubs , towels, and buckets to place under the leaks. Also during that rain, strangely enough, a leak sprung from of all places the towel bar in the master bath and pooled water on the tile floor right beside the commode. The locks were very difficult to turn. The safes did not have batteries, therefore you could not enter your own code. Lastly, there is obviously a leak in the pool, so the pool attendee would constantly have to add more water to it rendering it far too cold to even swim in and enjoy. I was the only person to even brave it one day for ten minutes!

Paradise

Beautiful location and beautiful house. The maid, Christina, is the sweetest, along with the other workers. Really nice people. The view is breathtaking. Unfortunately it rained while we were there. But I still had an amazing time. There was 10 of us and the house fit us more than comfortably. The owners of the house were easy to reach. Overall, great place. Will be going back.

We're small business owners from Paducah, a Kentucky town on the south bank of the Ohio River, and Puerto Plata and Playa Cofresi is one of our favorite family vacation destinations. We love it so much we decided to buy a property to ensure we always have an oceanic home-away-from-home. Of course, business reality means we can't use La Vista every day of the year, which is why we make it available to others who want to enjoy everything this beautiful location has to offer.

La Vista really is a great place to relax. Every time we have to leave we always look forward to going back, and we know you'll feel the same way after you spend a little time here.

Why they chose this property

It's simply an amazing location. Many properties offer ocean views, but at La Vista we got an ocean view and a terrific view of distant Pico Isabel de Torres and Puerto Plata. We love the surrounding community, the great restaurants, Ocean World adventure park, and, obviously, the beach! La Vista was also big enough to host our growing family, our extended family, and any friends we want to bring along for a great trip.

What makes this property unique

One thing we really love about La Vista is that it's not in the heart of a 'tourist trap.' The villa strikes a real balance between privacy, a truly scenic vista, and the ability to immerse yourself in the local culture. There's also enough amenities in La Vista that it's like being at a miniature resort without having to worry about noisy neighbors in the next room or annoying guests poolside. We really love it and the moment we win the lottery, we'll be moving down full time!
