Thanks for taking such great care of the cabin Rebecca, please come back anytime!
This property is a beautiful, well-kept cabin with plenty of beds and a lot of fun features like a home theater, arcade machines, outdoor fire pit, and indoor(!) hot tub. It is in a residential neighborhood, but in the warmer months when the trees are filled out there should be a fair amount of privacy. It was about a 30 minute drive into Grand Rapids, but honestly there is so much to do at the cabin, there was barely any reason to go out! Absolutely would stay here again whenever we're in the area.
We stayed here just after Thanksgiving, and invited our extended family from the area to join us for a meal celebration. It is exactly like the pictures, very nice, and spacious with room for a big family gathering, yet still has that beautiful, cozy ski lodge feel. The hot tub was a bit hit. Also, the giant theater screen and seating was perfect for those who wanted to watch the football games. This place is unique, not a dated, older home, but a real log cabin with tons of amazing extras. And the setting with the woods behind the lodge is perfect!
This house had it all. From age 2 all the way to age 70 in our party had something for everyone. The theater room was great for family night and those that did not want to watch a movie played in the game room. It kept us all in the same room and allowed for a sense of togetherness. The yard was beautiful a great setting for relaxing. Host was great and was available if we needed them, but the house was so well stocked we were self sufficient. Thanks you for a wonderful experience, you have a beautiful home.
The cabin was very pretty and unique, and nicely decorated. I fell in absolute love when I walked in; timber frame homes are a weakness of mine. So cozy, we felt instantly comfortable and at ease. We really enjoyed the home theater, we watched movies as a family; with surround sound, it felt like being at a real theater. A problem developed with the heat the day before our arrival and the host was very proactive, working with us to find another place, cancel or use space heaters. We went with the space heater option, and there was at least one heater in every room when we arrived, it was toasty warm and it stayed that way the whole time. There was plenty of coffee, cocoa and creamer, popcorn, a cocoa bomb, and candy bars were waiting for us to enjoy. The rules were minimal and reasonable. The host always picked up and answered any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this if you're into lovely, cozy cabins with great extras.
