We loved our stay with Tim and Maria. Their home is incredible and has everything you could need during your stay. We were able to do some cooking with all the facilities. Maria even gave us a coconut scraper to use so we could make fresh coconut cream for Oka. The house was well set up for large families. Staying in the mountains meant it was nice and cool. Very central location is you are exploring the whole island. Thank you for your hospitality, so happy to have met you both and experienced your beautiful home. Alofa Tele, Victoria
The property is lovely, everything you need to have a gorgeous getaway and holiday. The fale is beautiful and really nice and comfortable.
The owners were at the property the entire time, even staying underneath the neighbouring property where our family were staying which was a bit awkward. The gardens were being done daily so the weed eater was on for long periods during the day so you didn’t get the peaceful and serene sounds during the day which was not what we were wanting when we booked this location.
The owners did not like the 2 dogs belonging to the workers, and were often cruel to them. Screaming at them etc which was disturbing to us and our kids. We are huge animal lovers and the dogs were not an issue for us, in fact we would have enjoyed them.
The gates were closed at night which we were not informed about and apparently there were 31 rules for the house however in our place there was only one sheet of 15 rules and this was not on them so we were locked out the first night, we did not have a key for the gate. Luckily our family were in the other property and had the full rules sheet and the key so came and let us in. Once we knew about the gate it was not an issue, as it said they were closed at 9.30pm, however we went out for a fia fia night on the Friday and the gates had already been locked by 6pm which was a pain. Also someone would walk around the property with a torch at night which felt invasive. Overall the stay was great just a few things were not.

We at Samoan Highland Hideaway appreciate all constructive feedback.
Subsequently we have implemented the following actions and hopefully these will further enhance our future Guest's stays' with us:
1) We endeavour to highly respect our Guest's privacy so we will minimize our close proximity nighttime presence and security patrols to be more respectful and aloof. However, without compromising our care and responsiveness to to our Guest's needs; especially in the cases of illness, power & water outages and inclement weather.
2) Lawn cutting, and equipment usage, of course is quite noisy:- we will limit and adjust scheduling of these activities as much as practical so as to respect our Guest's privacy. Also we have requested and received the cooperation of our adjacent neighbouring folk.
3).We do not have any dogs of our own since they are quite noisy and cause some nuisance to some of our Guests. Neighbour's untrained canines gravitate to our property when we have Guests however they cause undue clean-up work so we are implementing measures to reduce this invasive problem.
4) Our property is very secure and private and gate open/closure procedures and hours are a part of our policies. We will be much clearer in the future in conveying these to our valued Guests. Especially in advising them to take their house and gate keys with them at all times and to immediately phone either of our 2 cell numbers in adverse circumstances.
Again, thankyou to our valued Guests.
