Classic City Retreat is Athens' premier large-group mansion — a 4,600 sq ft estate in the heart of Five Points with a private hot tub, theater room, and space for 15 guests to spread out in luxury. THE SPACE

This isn't a vacation rental — it's an estate. The main floor opens into a grand living room with a 7-piece sectional, gas fireplace, and 65" TV. Downstairs, 1,500 sq ft of dedicated entertainment space houses a full game room (pool table, ping pong, foosball, air hockey), a private theater with plush seating for 8, and two secluded bedrooms. Step outside to a private gazebo with a large hot tub, dining area, firepit, and propane grill — surrounded by bamboo and Georgia pines.

Really enjoyed our stay. Only issue was there was some things floating in the hot tub but one of the guys staying with us used the nets and cleaned it out. Otherwise we had a great time!

This property is in a word amazing. The location is wonderful. Easy access to all things UGA and Athens. The space is far greater than the pictures represent. Plenty of places to sleep, lounge, relax, and enjoy. The owners are very accessible and the property is well maintained. Honestly, i would go as far to say the property is under priced. A group of us stayed here because we needed some extra. room to celebrate Christmas with our family and it was PERFECT. We had 4 young kids & the game room, bunk room, & theater provided all the entertainment they could need. It was extremely spacious so we were very comfortable. Check in/out was also very easy... Amazing location on a quiet street. The theater room is INCREDIBLE! Plenty of space for a large group and within walking distance to great shops and restaurants. Cannot wait to go back!

The house is very large and very pretty on the outside. It’s in a great location and close to so many areas. The neighbors are all so lovely and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them and seeing the sweet neighborhood family of deer. Based on photos; it’s been awhile since proper maintenance was done on this home. It was very misleading. It’s in desperate need of repairs with the most alarming one being mold growing in the downstairs bathroom. The house has some other water damage issues as well as basic repairs that should be completed. Many of the amenities listed were not able to be enjoyed. We didn’t notice til late in our stay as it was just two of us and family coming to visit. The grill was filthy inside and out and should be replaced if not deep cleaned. . The ping pong table had ping pong balls that are cracked. The movie theatre reeked of raid or a bug spray. The air hockey table had a bolt on the ground underneath that had fallen out. The master bathroom shower had a seal issue. We had a mat down and stepped out of the shower and slid into the wall and door due to a water breach that has been ongoing from the damaged baseboard and carpet into the main bedroom.The AC returns on the floor were loose and definitely a hazard for anyone stepping near them. The master closet looks to be in the process of a renovation but not complete. So many more issues with photos as backup. Be cautious when booking this one.

We’re disappointed by this review, particularly because the concerns described were not communicated to us during the stay. Instead, we received a lengthy list of concerns around 6–7 PM the evening before checkout, after the guests had already stayed in the home for five nights without reporting any issues. Had these concerns been brought to our attention earlier, we would have been happy to inspect and address any legitimate maintenance or cleanliness issues while they were there. Following checkout, we had our cleaning team inspect the items raised directly at checkout. The inspection did not substantiate the broader condition concerns described in this review. We did identify a few minor routine maintenance items, including some light bulbs and the grill pan, which we addressed. We take guest feedback seriously and continually maintain and improve the property. However, receiving an extensive list of alleged problems only hours before checkout, after no concerns were reported during the stay, made it impossible for us to meaningfully address them during the reservation. The timing and nature of the complaints are concerning to us, particularly in light of the subsequent review. We’ve hosted many guests at this home and have consistently received excellent feedback and five-star reviews across all platforms. We’re proud of the experience we provide and want future guests to feel confident booking the home. We encourage future guests to communicate any concerns promptly during their stay so that we have an opportunity to address them as recommended by VRBO’s policy.
