The Hot Springs is amazing especially to have the whole place to ourselves to celebrate a special birthday. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked! Great place to stay!!!!
This property is breath taking and the lodge is amazing! Our retreat was so relaxing, rejuvenating, and productive with how comfortable the amenities were. The hot springs and the house were clean and well-taken care of. Would 100% recommend this stay to anyone looking for a nice getaway!
A really unique place to celebrate a big birthday with friends and family. Becci is great and what can one say about the hot springs. Really wonderful.
This place will not disappoint. This is our second family vacation here and we just absolutely love it. Communication is excellent and any questions are immediately answered. House is spotless. Pool is beautiful.
If there was a ever a place that brings out adventure, luxury and relaxation all at the same time it would be this place! Such an enjoyable company retreat for our executive team!!
We were lucky enough to make a second stay at Sleeping Child, and all were beyond happy with it. It was nice to see some improvements and projects in the works, in addition to everything already offered.
Our children, grandchildren, spouses and significant others had a wonderful time celebrating our eldest family member. We had everything we needed and the location was perfect for this once in a lifetime event.
I can't think of a better place to host a couple day retreat with friends and/or family. We had a large group of 20 people and there was room and space for everyone. More than ample supply of towels. Kitchen was adequately supplied with necessary utensils, pots, and pans. I have waited ten years to make this trip since I first discovered this place through friends. What a waste of ten years :) We could have been here multiple times by now. I am certain there will be numerus more outings!
Our family gathering of 20 people was a truly memorable one. The property is a secluded retreat snuggled in the Rocky Mountains, 6 miles from the nearest neighbor. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The swimming pool, the shuffleboard table, the ping-pong table and the card table were in constant use during the week.
The star gazing of the Big Sky from the top floor was mind-blowing. No light pollution to ruin the view. Becci and Aron, the on-site property managers, were very responsive to requests. Whatever was within their power to fix was handled expeditiously.
This home is definitely not short on space! There is lots of room to gather as well as sneak away for a quiet moment.
It is a bit of a throw back in decor but it worked well for us. There is no A/C which wouldn’t be an issue if the weather isn’t unseasonably hot. Our temps reached the mid to upper 90’s which made for a pretty warm house in the afternoon. Those temps also meant the hot springs pool was a bit too hot to get in except in the morning and evening but we just planned around that.
Also be aware that the water in the house is also fed by the hot springs. And due to the heat wave that meant scalding showers. Especially if taken later in the day.
Becci provided answers to all sorts of my questions prior to arrival. I asked for a phone number for texting shortly before arrival in order to facilitate faster replies and she was happy to provide that.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially having such a large space filled with all sorts of games to play together. Just be prepared for some things to be a bit more “rustic” than typical.
The house and location were superb, but I booked the venue for the water. In my opinion, the VRBO listing lacked transparency and the facility lacked appropriate signage.
Had I known that the water in the 30’ X 60’ pool would be unswimmably hot and, indeed, had an allowable maximum temperature of 106 degrees Fahrenheit (F), I wouldn’t have booked this VRBO. I expected the hot tubs to have hot water, but did not expect the pool to be as hot as the hot tubs.
The hot springs facility did not display required signage listed in Circular FCS 3 warning of dangers associated with hot water and exclusion of children aged 5 and under from entering the pool/hot tubs with a water temperature over 100° F. (Note that manufactured hot tubs have a maximum temperature of 104 degrees F.) With hot springs water entering at 133° F, evidently, in the heat of summer, 24 hours between bookings to drain, clean and refill is not enough time for the water to cool to a comfortable temperature. Also note that the indoor domestic water for both hot and cold was hot. Draw your bath water half an hour before you bathe. The water pressure in the showers was weak so that jets dribbled. The lush green lawn pictured on VRBO is dry and yellow in summer.
Lastly, Sleeping Child Hot Springs is required to have a calibrated thermometer in place available for patrons to check water temperature. I asked the host for a thermometer. She provided two. They gave different readings, so neither was reliable.
