Welcome to Garza Morena (Brown Heron), where you will find privacy, comfort, and the magic of the tropic in complete harmony! This beautiful lakefront property is situated in 1.75 acres facing Lake Cutris, about 40 km (or 40 minutes) from the town of La Fortuna, a world class destination in the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest. Make this tropical paradise retreat your next vacation adventure!
The property offers a peaceful and idyllic setting with all the exotic natural beauty and sounds of the tropical forest that Costa Rica is known for. The house has been designed for your comfort and enjoyment of the outdoors, with extensive pool and BBQ area, including outdoor kitchen, private dock, kayaks, and more. The floor plan includes the main living area with kitchen/dining area, and expansive outdoor deck for al fresco dining an lounging in the hammocks. The main floor is comprised of three bedrooms that sleep up to twelve people, with two full bathrooms in the main floor, and one full bathroom in the pool area below. Other amenities include hot water, washer and dryer, toiletries, towels, etc. The kitchen is also equipped with spices and other cooking basic supplies. Grab your morning coffee and take a walk through the manicured garden pathways, listen to the sounds of nature and enjoy all the beauty all around you. Great place for a family/friends retreat

This secluded home boast all the warmth and wonder of the San Carlos region. The views from the balcony at night and the morning sunrise are spectator.

We had a beautiful week here in our private setting. Raquel was very attentive and checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the kayaking on the lake, the rural location, the proximity to la Fortuna. The grounds were beautiful. We saw a toucan in a tree during our stay.

Beautiful and Breathtaking Home

I can't say enough good things about this property. It's gorgeous and Raquel, the host, was amazing! She left us a delicious gift basket with fruit and snacks on the counter, she was readily available whenever we texted her with questions and she had great recommendations for restaurants to eat at nearby. We would 100% recommend.

Great spot for vacations

Garza Morena is a beautiful house in a great location! It is peaceful and quiet with all of the amenities you need to just stay and enjoy, while also being a reasonable distance (45 to 90 minutes) to most of the fun activities in the La Fortuna area. We are a family of 6 and had plenty of space and everything we needed. Raquel was very helpful and quickly responded whenever we needed something.

Beautiful getaway

We absolutely loved this house. It was very clean, neat and had all the necessities. We spent 9 days in Costa Rica, only 2 days in this house but i wish we had spent them all here. It is a quiet location and absolutely stunning property. The landscaping is goegeous. The view over the lake is breathtaking. Check in/out process was simple. Only, make sure you get good directions, we got a bit lost coming here. Would really love to come back. Thank you so much to our host!

Lovely Property

The house and grounds are beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. It’s gorgeous looking over the lake. Pool was fantastic. Bedrooms and bathrooms are great. Check in easy and there was even a welcome basket with fruit. Would stay again. The only thing people need to know is that it is 45 min to La Fortuna even though it looks closer on the map. This didn’t bother us but if you are expecting to just pop in and out of town you need to plan accordingly from a time perspective.

Great patio with pool in quiet area

Loved the welcome basket with an abundance of fruits and treats for the kids. It was a nice house, great morning view of the lake and sitting outside with coffee every morning was amazing. Had an issue in one room with the AC but owners were quick to respond and fix it. Would have been perfect if the living room had air conditioning. Maybe get some screens for the doors and windows to stay open and allow a draft to cool it off. We kept them shut because of all the insects and mosquitos. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots to cook with. Basic grocery store was reasonably close. Kids loved using the kayaks on the quiet lake. The view was the best every morning ing and the pool was very clean.

Amazing!

We loved our stay here. I would come back again in a heartbeat. The team welcomed us into the home and went through all of the necessary items we would need to know while we were staying there. They were very generous with her time and answered her questions as we had them. They left us some amazing, homemade juice and a huge plate of fruit. The wildlife birdwatching was fantastic. The pool was a pure joy. There were extra blankets for every bed plenty of towels, and the kitchen was well stocked. We were happy and comfortable the entire time and couldn’t say more about the hospitality we received. we notified them of a small plumbing issue and it was fixed within hours and they even brought us cake and ice cream when they came to do the repair. Above and beyond anything we ever expected Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Awesome Patio/Pool Area and Backyard View!

This house was very modern and very clean, and had an awesome back patio/pool area with a great view of the lake. The check-in process was more complicated than other places we stayed at, but the instructions given by the host made it a breeze. The host was very communicative with us through every step of the process, and answered any text within minutes. The only slight downside to this house was that it did not have hot water. The shower on the main level (not the master bathroom) also did not drain very well, and I was standing in about 2 inches of water by the end of my shower. It ended up draining, but the host may want to look into that for future rentals. The only other suggestion I have for the hosts with this house, is to get a hot tub to go along with the pool :) that would make this house amazing! All in all, we had a great time here and I would definitely recommend this house to anyone in the future.

Communication was great! Never had to wait for a response if we had a question. The house was perfect! Perfect location, grounds were beautiful, size was perfect for our group of 7. Raquel was an amazing host! Set us up with a massage therapist who came to the house for 4 of us. And when power went out in the area, she found us a close restaurant who was airing the Super Bowl! Highly recommend
