About this property
Amazing View with hot tub
Buffalo River Basin Cottage takes you off the beaten path to a place of simpler times away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Here you will find a cozy cottage with a retro vibe that has been updated to provide a stunning view of the valley and the mountains beyond. See the morning mist rising from the river, as you enjoy your morning coffee on the expansive deck or sit in the hot tub in the evening as the sun sets below the mountain ridges. Within a few miles of the cottage, you will find eating establishments for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you want a meal without the work. The cottage is conveniently located near Buffalo National River access points, hiking trails and Boxley Valley for elk viewing. Day trips to nearby Branson, Mo, Eureka Springs, and the NWA metro area could be on your agenda. However, with the peace and solitude the cottage provides, you may just want to stay and relax the day away.
The cottage is located on a gravel road about a mile off the state highway. While not far off the highway, it is about a mile up a county road which may have some potholes and such due to weather between gradings. A higher clearance vehicle is recommended. Most vehicles do fine, just take it easy, it is not far. There is a doorbell camera pointing towards the driveway. No other cameras are on the property.
Firewood is provided for the firepit. Binoculars are available to catch a glimpse of wildlife in the trees or in the valley below. The Buffalo National River has been designated as a Dark Sky Park by the International Dark-Sky Association so you might consider bringing your telescope. Come let us share our piece of paradise with you!

We had such a wonderful time here! The cottage was so nice and clean, and had absolutely everything we needed. It was so peaceful and quiet- we enjoyed just sitting out on the patio and taking in the gorgeous views. We would love to return in the future!

Fall is an awesome to relax at the cottage. So glad you enjoyed your stay.
Wonderful place to come and relax. Plenty of hiking and exploring in the area. This cabin provides a perfect getaway after a day of adventures. Watching the sunset from the hot tub and retreating inside for a home cooked meal. Perfect.
Enjoyed our stay. Very cozy and had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the deck and in the hot tub enjoying the view. Perfect location - secluded but not too far from things to do.

The location close the river, trails and eating options does make the cottage a convenient place to use as home base. But just staying put, porch sitting and hot tubbing are great options too! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Great experience from A to Z. Directions were clear and the last half mile on gravel road typical for the area. Excellent view from ample porches. The hosts attention to detail was impressive. One of the most useful guest book suggestions I've seen. Two couples found it easy to navigate. Prearrival communications were fast and helpful. Kudos to the host!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We are happy you appreciated the sharp knives. You are correct, photos never seem to give the depth and beauty of the valley and mountains beyond like viewing them in person. Thank you for your kind words.
The cabin was nice and cozy and perfect for our girls trip!! The hot tub was amazing! Got to see some wildlife also. Neighbors fur babies were so sweet. Loved their little visit!

Glad you found the cottage as great place to hang out with the girls! Fun times and memories made.
Property was just as described, beautiful view and location. Hot tub was wonderful! Can not think of anything we needed. Road was a little rough, but we took it slow and had no problems. Great access to the Buffalo River just a few miles from the cabin. Drove down to Ponca and saw an elk. Did not do any hiking due to recent bear attacks. (We are not serious hikers so didn't feel real comfortable!) Ate at Low Gap, good food, just be prepared to pay a little more.Would definitely come back!

So glad you enjoyed your stay both at the cottage and in the area. Recent rains have made the road a bit rough, taking it easy is the way to go. Being less than a mile from the highway, it really does not take very long.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, secluded, and had a great view as advertised. The hot tub was fantastic!
Some of the furnishings and fixtures had to be 50+ years old, but were in great condition. Very cool!
We will definitely be back!
