Prized for its sense of peace and seclusion, the house has long played host to a revolving cast of travelers and colorful local characters — including artists, playwrights, TV producers, and war heroes. Most notably, New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw sought refuge here after being accused in the murder of JFK. (He was quickly acquitted.)
Nowadays, this graceful property with its shaded courtyards is the perfect dreamy hideaway for visitors like you; visitors who love all the music, fun, and excitement New Orleans has to offer, but who also want a place to relax.

Located in Faubourg Marigny, this bed & breakfast is steps away from Decatur Street and Frenchmen Street. Bourbon Street and Mississippi River are also within 5 minutes. French Market Stop is only a 5-minute walk and Ursulines Ave Stop is 7 minutes.
Andrea is a star! She made our stay so easy, on arrival and departure and in between. The beds are so comfy, and the location cannot be beat for catching the acts on Frenchman Street. And the apartment is quiet for a place that is close to the action!
Great stay with a great location. The courtyard was such a nice addition. Andrea was super helpful and the house was perfect for our stay. We will be staying here next time we are in New Orleans.
This was by far the cutest place I've stayed while in Nola. Everything was as pictured. The courtyard was an absolute dream. Thank you for handling everything so smoothly, Beth!
We thoroughly enjoyed this uniquely New Orleans property! Very clean and comfortable, we felt right at home!
The location couldn’t have been better for Frenchman Street activities, as well as easy access to the Quarter. Despite being in the center of the action, the property was still very private and relaxing! A perfect New Orleans escape!

We came to NOLA for a wedding and picked this place due to location of wedding festivities. We typically stay closer in to the quarter. We enjoyed this place a lot! Great outdoor patio. Beds were comfortable! The stairs are creaky (old house) so you won’t be sneaking up on anybody!!! It’s also a spiral staircase so not good if you have orthopedic issues!!! Kitchen is small but functional! Overall enjoyed our stay!!!!
Enjoy this beautiful secluded house. Had everything we need . Walk to bourbon was a little long than expected , but we managed with Huber. Had a little stray cat but all n all Everything was nice.
This is a review of the Lanaux Mansion, which is a lovely historic mansion steps away from many restaurants, activities, and the exciting nightlife of Frenchman Street. I really want to shout out the management. Andrea was incredibly responsive and did everything possible to make sure our state was comfortable, which it was. The mansion is a special place!
This guesthouse is ideally located, near to everything in the French Quarter, including walks along the river, superb restaurants, and bars with great bands, all types of drinks, and quick service. The support team was very responsive and quick to fix any problem. But the facilities themselves have some issues. First, the two beds are located up a circular staircase that is challenging for individuals with disabilities (two of our group had problems); second, the half bath on the ground floor requires a user to go outside and then back in a separate door off the patio, in order to use it. This particularly affected those who could not climb the stairs. These basic issues were not described in the listing. But even with those drawbacks, the place was perfect for our early Chistmas with family.
What a wonderful find! A unique guesthouse tucked back in a courtyard with a beautiful hidden secret garden. Super peaceful and quiet, which is kind of amazing since it's one block from all of the music clubs on Frenchmen St. and just across the street from the French Quarter.
It has the character of an 1850’s guesthouse, but with all the modern amenities. We really enjoyed making dinner in their well stocked kitchen.
A wooden spiral staircase took us to the bedrooms -each have a cool balcony looking onto the courtyard.
A lovely place to gather and enjoy with a fountain that just adds to the relaxed vibe.
We will be back !
Loved the location of this property. We wanted to be close to Frenchman St, but also within easy access to French Quarter. This place was perfect. We also particularly loved the outdoor garden and courtyard with nice outdoor lighting. It was very private and lovely. The 2 bedrooms were very large and comfortable each with their own bath. Getting to them via the circular staircase was unique, but a bit dicey going up to the third level as the handrail was loose towards the top. Very handy to have a half bath on the first floor, although it took us a minute to find it, as it is accessed via the courtyard. The kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of tea and coffee supplies as well as fresh milk, OJ, and biscuits, a really thoughtful touch! Thank you to the hosts for a lovely stay!
