The Worst VRBO Experience Ever
First, the listing is misleading. The property is a Sonesta ES Suites offered by a hotel reseller. It’s not a condo or apartment complex. The property is old and dingy. The guy who checked us in was utterly incompetent. Although check-in is at 4pm our rooms were not ready. We arrived about 4:30. Waited over an hour at the front desk as they scrambled around. Finally got 1 of 2 rooms in time to unpack and head out to UofA graduation. Returned later that night to find that the front desk clerk never assigned our second room and had given ALL the rooms in the hotel away. Their solution was to offer to send half our party all the way across town to their “sister” hotel in a crappy neighborhood. No thanks. Instead we crammed into our one unit. Asked for extra bath towels and of course they did not have any. One of the bathrooms also had no shampoo or soap. Unbelievable. Worst of all no manager ever reached out to apologize for this fiasco. Got a partial refund but that hardly made up for things. Very disappointing that VRBO allows these kinds of listings by hotel room resellers.
