Cabines Niksen is a lakeside rental cabin in the Laurentians, just one hour from Montreal, nestled in the beautiful Saint‑Sauveur Valley. Niksen, a Dutch concept, refers to the art of doing nothing—guilt‑free. This fully equipped modern mini‑chalet with a private spa offers a unique nature‑immersive getaway. Perfect for a romantic stay, a relaxing escape, or a short retreat. Enjoy the pedal boat, kayaks, and paddleboard directly on the lake (private dock). Hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing are all nearby. Comfortably accommodates 2 guests and your dog is welcome (up to 2 dogs, $50 per stay). An intimate alternative to a hotel in the Laurentians. Cabines Niksen aims to reduce its environmental impact one stay at a time. Composting and recycling are easily accessible to guests to help minimize the footprint of their visit. The chalet is fully equipped for the comfort of its guests. We rely on guests to treat the premises with utmost care.
The chalet is designed for the comfort of 2 people maximum and 2 dogs ($50 extra charge per stay) at all times (indoor and outdoor).

Although it is winter and secluded, my wife enjoyed the fact that we had easy access to local wine, our dog met Pinky a young husky on the road, the hot tub was a must, we are thinking of maybe renting on the summer to see both worlds, thanks again to the host availability
Thanks to Daniel and Johanne for being the most gracious of hosts. I can't say enough about the accomodations. Stunningly beautiful views. My pup and I look forward to returning.
Very clean, extremely well equipped, wasn't missing anything. Hot tub is a little far from the nearest entrance of the house but was still a great experience at -25 degrees. Overall amazing experience

Merci beaucoup de votre commentaire, nous esperons vous recevoir a nouveau!
Lovely and cozy chalet in the winter, dog-friendly and all the amenities you could wish for. Johanne and Daniel are very welcoming and make you feel at home during the whole stay. Thank you!
The cottage was wonderful. Perfect for two people and a dog. Just enough space. The outdoor area and the hot tub were so nice. Our dog loved the lake for swimming although for human swimming it was a little shallow. The kitchen was so well equipped with ALL the essentials and even some additional tools that made our stay amazing

Thank you so much for your kind words!
We’re really happy you enjoyed your stay at Cabines Niksen.
Yes, you’re right — this year the lake level is quite low, just like many others in the region, due to the very dry weather and lack of rain we’ve had. Hopefully nature will balance things out soon!
A very nice and cosy place with a beautiful view over a small lake. The screened in porch made for a great spot to enjoy our meals away from the bugs. Overall, a very pleasant weekend up at the lake
The cottage is clean, beautifully located and ad all the amenities you need to properly relax. My only recommendation is to not put as much cleaning responsibility on your guests especially if you charge 130 in cleaning fees.Other than that I highly recommend staying at Niksen!
Very clean. Very Quiet. Great lakeside view. Close enough to Saint-Sauveur. Very well equiped kitchen. My pregnant wife and I stayed for a week and we loved the place! Perfect for spending quality time with your significant other. It was so nice to getaway from the city scenery.
Vue sur le lac à couper le souffle. Cabine confortable et très propre. Tous les détails on été pensé pour rendre notre séjour unique! À revisiter certainement!
My boyfriend and I had trouble finding cabins for 2 that allowed dogs. We decided to create the Niksen Cabins in order to offer beautiful quiet places for 2 + our pet friend to reconnect with nature. The important thing for us are all the little details that make the stays memorable.
Why they chose this property
We wanted a peaceful place by a lake surrounded by mountains. In addition the sunsets are magnificent. We have neighbors put the place is very quiet.
