Get away from it all when you stay on this lovely 1/2 acre site. Short drive to River Road Plantations: Whitney, Laura, Oak Alley, etc.
Hi, I'm Elizabeth, your host! I live up front of the property. But the fenced 1/2 acre backyard is completely yours to explore. Very private. Very quiet. Enjoy the ducks, chickens as they free range.
I renovated the cottage, built on site in the 1940's, with the help of friends and professionals, It was refurbished using recycled materials, new appliances. I added a composting toilet. Search "Nature's head composting toilet" on Youtube to see how it works.
The property has privacy fencing all around with an automated gate.
Visitors have off-street parking 10 ft. from your door.
Enjoy the beautiful trees and seasonal flowers in the back yard. Take your coffee to the bench near duck pond and feed the chickens if you'd like. Fresh eggs daily :-)

Why they chose this property
I like the town because it has an interesting history; it's a purpose built community. It was founded in 1903 to lumber cypress from the local swamps.
What makes this property unique
The cottage was built on site in the 1940s and used as a workshop.
The whole town was originally part of Esperance Plantation. The plantation house still stands at the end of Church Street & River Road.
