Welcome to Jurassic Retreat!
Life-size animatronic dinosaurs that roar and move at the touch of a button, a private hot tub, and a 75" Smart TV for movie nights, all tucked into the evergreen hills outside Washougal. Sleeps 12 across 4 bedrooms, 10 minutes from Columbia River Gorge trails and 30 minutes from Portland. Built for families, birthdays and group getaways. Pets stay free. Getting Around:
Parking at the property is easy and guests can park up to 4 cars for free at the front of the property. It is not an easy area to get Ubers or Lyfts so we recommend having a car if you are going to be staying here. Must have 4x4 or AWD vehicles to access the private road to the house. Only vehicles shorter than 10’9” and smaller than 12’0” wide will fit in through our gate.

Such a nice property andso family friendly

Our kids loved the dino touches and of course the animatronic life size dinos! Hot tub was private and relaxing and the house was very comfortable for our large group.

Beautiful home, the kids and adults alike enjoyed the dinosaurs. Richard and his team are extremely easy to communicate with. The house itself had many added amenities including a movie night treat for the kids which they loved! Wonderful stay, will be back!

The dinosaur retreat did not disappoint!!!! Plan to cook or bring food up from town, bc you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. That was definitely part of the appeal for me!!!!

Incredible House

The most incredible and unique property. My friends and I rented this house as we ran the 100K Gorge Ultra. It was perfect for us as it was spacious, open for entertaining, and had all the amenities we needed. The moving dinosaurs were an added special touch. Highly recommend to any families or just friends coming together looking for a special place.

awesome but not for young kids

this place was awesome and my kiddos thought it was super cool. but the entire upstairs is open and you can hear every sound from every room in the house. teens and adults is fine but nap times and bedtimes were a bit of a nightmare. otherwise really cool place!

What a magical stay!

We had the best time at the Dino home! The outdoor dinosaurs are of incredible quality. Even better than the dinosaurs we saw at the pacific science center in Seattle. Our 2 year old loved the generous amount of dinosaur toys to play with in his bedroom as well as his “big boy” bunk bed. We enjoyed our evenings lounging on the most comfortable couch in the world. Everything was perfect. The attention to detail across the whole property is incredible. We’d love to come back :)

Memorable and Fun!

The home is clean, the location is gorgeous, cell coverage not great but Wi-Fi works good. The communication was excellent and check in process was flawless. Hot tub water was cloudy, looked dirty. The main attraction here is all about the dinosaurs, which were incredible! The kids absolutely loved it, and it was a lot of fun. There's one small bedroom on the main floor, it has twin bunk beds. The upstairs bedrooms are all open to the downstairs. They are beautifully done but it feels like you are sleeping in a treehouse at a sleepover with all your friends. You can hear absolutely everything going on in the house at all times. There is no degree of separation whatsoever. Also, the ceilings in the upstairs hallways are very low and the angle of the roof obstructs the hallway even further. All of the tall people in our party hit their heads several times. We did enjoy our stay very much, and we love the location for its beauty and access to things we like to do.

Fun and funky stay for family wedding

Great communication from the start. House was immaculate and well supplied.. Big public area fit everyone and was comfortable. Hot tub was great.As in some other properties I have experienced, the bedrooms have open windows with shutters to the public area. It can be loud if one retires earlier than the rest of the group. Owner/agent receptive to suggestions as discoveries/inconveniences arose such as bedside lighting, cookware etcWe loved the dinosaurs! They are incredible. And we watched the supplied Jurassic Park movies on the big screen inside. That area of the Columbia River is gorgeous. Jurassic Retreat would be a fun base for a family to spend some time exploring. Even with mostly all adults, we worked the dinos often.We were to capacity with a girls cousin room and a boys cousin room and adult brother and sister with their spouses.in the other two rooms. The big bathroom upstairs worked well for the girls to get ready while the rest of us went downstairs. Prepping for a family wedding with several events over two days, we had lots of ins and outs and turnarounds. Everyone had their space and it worked well.I rented a large 4WD at the listings suggestion and was glad I did. Other cars could make it up the hill but it was a breeze with my Suburban.
