This is our 2nd time to stay here, and we've enjoyed it each time. The property is tucked away in the Pines, but super close to downtown Bastrop. It is pet friendly which is a must for us. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. The containers are comfortable and well-appointed, as is the huge deck area which is actually our favorite place to relax by the fire. Both times we've stayed here it has been in the winter, and we hope to visit again this summer. We highly recommend!

The property was great. Everything you need was there. The WiFi wasn’t that great. Also might be time to change out the frying pans. Other then that all was good.
Enjoyed the details such as waters in fridge being stocked with waters and amenities.

Would definitely stay here again. Love the crates and the patio. Owner thought of everything plus went above and beyond. Great location. Little town of Bastrop was quaint place to visit and location good for Round Top. Can’t wait to go back. Super host!

Simply a fantastic place to stay! The owners have thought of every little detail that would make you comfortable in your stay. From a dog bed, hiking sticks, laundry detergent, well placed charging stations, I could go on and on! Extremely well priced for all that you get with this amazing property. We will absolutely be back many more times in the future!!

From the owner: "Carlos, thank you for your stay. It was a pleasure working with you. We can’t wait to have you return!"
A great place to stay! This home is tucked away in the beautiful pine trees, but still close to everything in Bastrop. It was clean, charmingly decorated, and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed and more. The large, covered outdoor area was our favorite place to relax and visit. The tabletop heaters were perfect for the cool evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we can stay again every time we visit Bastrop.
As a couple with 3 medium/large dogs we were curious to see if we could manage being in a 40’ unit. We loved all the space outside and the unit was cozy. Even though we didn’t stay in it, it was nice to have the washer and dryer in Little Blue. The pups loved all the sights, smells, and sounds while we enjoyed the views. We would definitely stay again!

We were really needing a time to get away as a family before we got in full swing with school schedules, etc… this place was great. Definitely hot in August, but really appreciated the cooled A/C in the remodeled crates. Glamping in style with lots of room to stretch out and enjoy nature. We used the small kitchen along with the grill to prepare all our meals. Felt like home away from home. Ellen was great to respond to any inquiries we had both before our arrival and after. Highly Recommend!!!
Very unique and beautiful place to stay. We came in the middle of summer when temperatures were getting into the triple digits. And both homes were very cool we had to turn the air down at night because it got so cold. They provide premium soaps, bottled water, soda's and accessories. Top of the line appliances with washer and dryer. The host is very friendly and treats her guest like royalty. Everything looks new and beautifully decorated.Great place if you are traveling with children over 13, two couple travelers or traveling with grandparents that would enjoy their own private cabin. Very private and secluded and a large fenced in area that you dogs can run around and play in.Only 11 miles from The Last Resort. Rebecca BiceOwner of TexasTeacups.com

We vacationed the area for Sherwood Forest Faire. It was easy to get Sherwood from this location. The property had a huge outdoor area for dining, cooking or socializing. There is not much space for luggage so utilize the storage they provide strategically. We left suitcases outside with no worries. Ellen communicated the entire time, from when we first booked to the day we arrived. if we needed anything she was a text away. Although we didn’t. We had everything we needed. Very quaint! Very Quiet! I would definitely vacation here again.
EVERYTIME we thought we didn't bring something, we found that Ellen had thought to stock it!!! ie.PLEASANT SURPRISE!!
Additionally, Ellen was the most ENGAGED hostess(owner?) ever encountered!! Again, PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!

Incredible place don’t pass this up you won’t regret it
This place is amazing the location is so incredibly relaxing the views are breathtaking. They are so pet friendly and even installed retractable gates to help keep your fur babies contained. There are 2 shipping containers and each one is its own little piece of heaven with a bedroom and full bathroom. The shared outdoor space has everything you can think of for a family get together spacious seating bbq grill and not one but 2 table top heaters. I can’t say enough good things and I can’t wait to stay there again as it’s so close to the Rising Sun Vineyard where we were visiting
The “container houses” are about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! When you drive into the property, you feel like you’re in a dreamy movie with the gorgeous pine trees surrounding you! Then you walk up a beautiful rock set of steps onto a fabulous outdoor area! It’s so spacious and a great place to relax and take in the fresh air! There are more than enough amenities for cooking outdoors, and indoors, too! The two containers allow you to have separate “living quarters”, which was perfect for my husband and his work partner for their extended stay while doing a job in Bastrop! They loved it so much, they booked a second week after a 9 night stay the first time! I cannot wait to go back when it is just my husband and myself! It’s so peaceful and the owner has put more thought into every single detail than the law should allow! I would recommend this place to everyone! It’s beyond perfect! Superhost status in my opinion all the way!

This is an owner managed property. Forest Lane Acres is our only property and is much loved by our family. Acquired in 2012, Forest Lane Acres is a 2.8-acre property that endured the catastrophic Bastrop County Complex Fire in September 2011, the most devastating wildfire in Texas history. The property witnessed the loss of its home, garage, and over 200 trees that once contributed to its lush greenery. Only nine homes remained unscathed in the Lost Pines Development, a quaint community where our property is situated.
As the new custodians of Forest Lane Acres, our mission has been centered around reviving its once vibrant landscape. In 2014, we spearheaded the planting of over 800 pine seedlings under the auspices of the Lost Pines Reforestation Program. The burgeoning pine forest you see today is a testament to our years of diligent land management and erosion control efforts.
The shipping containers and the expansive outdoor patio now stand on the site of the former house, while the covered carport occupies the location of the old three-car garage.
Now in our retirement years, we are committed to nurturing this property so it can continue to thrive for our grandchildren. It is a well loved property and it gives us immense pleasure to share this rejuvenating outdoor retreat with others who appreciate the beauty of nature.
Why they chose this property
This property presents an idyllic retreat for couples or small families who relish outdoor adventures. It boasts serene views of the pine forest from a spacious patio deck, offering an exclusive oasis of privacy - you may detect the distant hum of neighbors, but they remain unseen. The outdoor area is equipped with WIFI, allowing you to work or play on your laptop amidst nature. Pet-lovers will appreciate the pet-friendly patio, fitted with retractable screens on all openings to ensure your furry companions remain safely within sight. Inside, the property is cleverly constructed from two shipping containers, providing a compact yet cozy living space of 540 square feet. It can comfortably accommodate five adults, including a queen-sized sofa bed. Despite the limited interior space, it is well-appointed with all home comforts, albeit on a smaller scale. Larger groups may find the interior a little snug for lounging. The 1200 square-foot outdoor covered patio is perfect for larger gatherings or outdoor dining. With the inclusion of ceiling and floor fans for the summer months, and fire pit tables to cozy up during the colder months, this outdoor haven is designed for year-round enjoyment - only extreme weather conditions could dampen the outdoor experience.
What makes this property unique
The two container configuration offers two private bedrooms/bathrooms, perfect for couples or families traveling with grandparents who want to spend time together but appreciate some privacy. There is a 30amp RV spot available on request.
