About the host
Hosted by Dina
We first came to Bali in 1991 on a reluctant stop over, whilst on tour with Barking Gecko Theatre. Bali turned out to be an unexpected surprise! After that we just kept coming back. In 2007 we had the opportunity to move to Bali, with Lou taking a teaching position and Grahame finally having the opportunity to build our dream Bali home. In the process we found Akasa Villa which needed significant renovation and become our temporary home while we built Firefly Villa. When our home was finally built we decided to share beautiful Bali Akasa Villa with visitors to the island giving them the opportunity to rent it short term.
Originally from Australia, we have been married for more than 30 year and have 2 sons. Our first son is already grown up, lives in Sydney and is happily married, the second son goes to school in Bali. Previously Lou was a successful Theatre Set and Costume Designer. Grahame was a highly acclaimed Theatre Director and writer. Why did we move to Bali? We’d reached the peak in our respective careers, so it was time for a new adventure, a new life and a new challenge. So this seemed to be the perfect opportunity to move with our 6 year old son to Bali to immerse themselves into a new culture and experience some of the delights this tropical island has to offer. Our aim is that our guests are able to do the same.

Why they chose this property
Bali Akasa Villa enjoys a beautiful setting, with a lush, mature tropical garden around a beautiful swimming pool. Large, open verandahs provide the perfect outdoor living space as well as respite from the sultry climate.
Bali is being over-run by huge, characterless developments. They could be anywhere in terms of their style and feel as they are so neutral that you could be mistaken for thinking you were in almost any western city.
At the same time, what most people really love about coming to Bali is that it’s like a tropical paradise with beautiful gardens, natural settings and enchanting traditions. When you leave you feel refreshed and inspired.
Akasa Villa has all of this. You will not find anything else like it in Seminyak. A beautiful villa with it’s stunning alang-alang roof which enhances the natural setting of the enchanting tropical garden and large kidney shaped swimming pool. A villa of this size and in this style is a rare gem in Seminyak. Then furnished with all modern amenities and wonderful staff make the ingredients for a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

What makes this property unique
Close to the attractions of Seminyak, Legian and Kuta, Akasa Villa is away from from the party scene; a place to recover, refresh, and prepare for the adventures the next day will bring.
The staff at Akasa Villa can attend to most of your needs, and you may simply choose to enjoy your holiday within the Villa compound.
In villa spa treatments are available, with a custom built massage table.
The villa can accommodate a group of friends or family members, and still provide space from each other. It is great for children and families. The Bungalow can be set up as an entertainment TV room when not used as a bedroom. Secure, private and convenient, Akasa Villa is perfect holiday accommodation in an ideal location and setting.
The restaurant scene in Bali is booming, with wonderful eating options emerging. Seminyak is at its epicentre. Names such as Mama San, Republik 45l, Metis, Sardine, Chez Gado Gado, Warisan and Sarong are a few of the memorable fine dining options which are close to the AkasaVilla.
These are supplemented by an exciting mix of casual venues which mix entertainment, great cocktails and a vibrant social scene. These include places such a Potato Head, Ku De Ta, Motel Mexicola, Frankenstein's Laboratory, Laca Laca, Zibiru, Ginger Moon, and Cubana.
In addition to that, Seminyak is a wonderful place to shop, visit the spas and laze at the beach. And they are all virtually right at your doorstep when you stay at Akasa Villa.
