My family and I just returned from three weeks in Barbados. Our stay there was made very special by our host Ed and.Yvette. They allowed us to spend three weeks in their first floor apartment and made us feel like we were part of the family. Ed was very attentive with any need that arose in the apartment making sure we always had whatever we needed. We will miss them and Barbados and look forward to returning another time.

Chis and Ev were very generous, warm and unforgettable guests. They left the apartment extremely clean which we appreciated very much. We welcome you and your family back any time!
Our stay was peaceful as the apartment is based in a quiet residential area, about 10 minutes drive from the nearest beach, som It’s best to have a car.
The property lived up to the photos. Spacious clean, everything we needed for a relaxing holiday in a quiet friendly neighbourhood. Our hosts were available to help with any questions or queries. Property slightly further out from Speightstown and beaches than we first thought. But a short walk to Mile & A Quarter for the local buses brilliant for getting about.
Would happily return.

Topical Pearl Unbeilevable Hospitality
We have just finished a six week stay at this location, everything was as per advertised. Ed and Yvette were the perfect hosts, if we needed anything all we had to do was mention it to Ed and it was solved immediately. The apartment was very clean and bug free (this is very important to us). I would highly recommend this property. The attraction in Barbados that we would recommend are as follows; Animal Flower Cave, Harrison's Cave, St Nicholas Abby and the Round House @ Bathsheba. We also had fun at the Boatyard on Carlisle Bay. Again we would like to thank Ed, Yvette, Latoya and Jeremy for their hospitality during our stay.

Thanks Derek and Ilene for your positive review. We enjoyed the excitement and the delight on your faces after tasting the treats from the nearby bakery and the fruits from our fruit trees (figs and plum rose), which were unique to you. We also enjoyed the conversations we shared together.
It was also a pleasure to get your car rental organized at the most reasonable rate here in Barbados; and the provision of your breakfast items prior to your arrival.
We certainly will continue to be of service to all our future guests- the pleasure is ours.

Up and Coming Area with cute Monkeys and large fish in the back yard.
Amazing price for what you get. Full kitchen and dinning living room area. Two bedrooms with large beds (King and Queen) Easy to drive to spectacular beaches in Speigthtown, Holetown and Mullins Beach (best). There are beaches just down the Maynard road at Port St.Charles. Air conditioning in bedrooms is more than adequate. Parking is on driveway or a few houses down. Had no issues with parking. The area is quiet and a few new building are being built. Enter the area beside the sun farm. Preferred. One of the advantages of being in a real neighbourhood is that home owners are more respectful of neighbours so they keep the noise to a minimum and look out for each other. The property has COY Fish, Fun Monkeys, Hummingbirds, Small black birds and cute gecko's. The house was mostly bug free. The bathroom window needs a screen. This accommodation is in easy distance to Holetown (upscale), Speightown (more a local town with Jordans a local supermarket with lower prices) and Mullins beach. These beaches have easy swims and have lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is a beach club in Holetown and Mullins beach. You will be a very quick drive to The wildlife park (Monkeys, Tortoises, deer, sheep and a myriad of other tropical creatures and rain forest. Across the street from park is a 15 walk to see the Atlantic Ocean. Car or uber or taxi recommended at property. Main roads are hard to walk on safely with cars zooming at 70KPH with little space to walk. Highly Recommended 5/5

Friendly host and someone was always available to help.
Great property, in a nice quiet neighbour hood with easy access to transportation.
Intended to hire a vehicle hire but instead took the local bus and taxis as it was a lot quicker and easier to get around on the local and government buses.

Beverley,
You booked for 10 nights and wanted to stay for an extra 3 nights which was possible, but you needed to pay, it was not for free. You led us to believe this was due to the flight return to Canada. You reacted oblivious when I ask you to "settle" your account.. We were surprise to see the amount of luggage. We later found out you were staying for an additional month here. You were not upfront with this. . You used your situation with your 30 year "adopted" son from Cuba as an excuse for your behavior, since everything revolved around him. On your departure you took offence to waking him up to meet the agreed taxi departure time. We treated you well and went overboard to accommodate you in spite of the situation with your refugee son.

Heaven in Barbados with Angel Hosts ☺😇
The Samuels are an amazing host family. I have travelled all over the world and never experienced a host like them. They picked us up from the airport; they provided food in the fridge; showed us around Barbados; cooked an amazing cultural dinner for us; took us to the grocery store; offered us surf lessons; let us use their laundry machines; provided us simple amenities; and so much more. They were always available and cordial. So much love I am experienced from them. Really makes a difference when you travel. I cannot more highly recommend them. They are the best. The apartment was clean and just had a great vibe about it....guessing it was from all the love that they were sending from upstairs. You will experience a satisfying and blissful stay if you choose this place.

“Tropical Pearl Offers Unforgettable Memories” – Simply awesome
My husband and I would describe our stay at Tropical Pearl intriguing, relaxing and invigorating after coming from our hectic schedules and commuting in Toronto.
We arrived at this apartment on July 21st and stayed for one month. We were pleasantly surprised with the luscious surroundings of greenery and colours of red, lilac and yellow flowers which brought back pleasant memories of our honeymoon.
The apartment is very well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, cutlery etc. If there is something you require otherwise, you can ask Yvette or Ed and they will get it for you.
You will hear the birds chirping in the morning. You can also pick fruit of your choice and look at the tropical fish which includes tilapia in their five fish ponds. If you are lucky, you get your tilapia for dinner from the fish pond.
Yvette and Ed were very committed to making our stay as enjoyable as it was. We are already planning for next year’s trip.
We would definitely recommend persons seeking to get away from it all to stay at “Tropical Pearl”.

Six months of tropical Barbados
We just finished a six month stay with Yvette and Ed Samuel they were very welcoming and helped us enjoy or stay. The photo's that are on this site are very accurate and reflect a nicely furnished two bedroom apartment, that is quite well appointed and very clean. Ed is retired and is available all the time to help if you have things you need and he is constantly working on his property, gardening, building (at present is working on a covered patio with a BBQ area), the mango's that grow on the property are fantastic and in the seasons that they ripen there were more than we could eat, there are also other tropical fruit depending on the season. This property is located in a very quiet residential community and from our experience very safe we did not even hear of any issues the entire time we were there. The village of Mile and a Quarter is a short walk 10min and has a bakery service station and a great market that has almost all the groceries and supplies you would need as well as a hardware store. Bus transportation is available from Mile and a Quarter and from there you can access the network of bus routes to anywhere on the island. The beach that is closest is a 40min walk down hill or in our case a 5min. drive, we had a car during our stay and enjoyed the freedom to travel where and when we wanted. The extra bedroom or studio apartment is accessed by a separate door and is very nice with private bath and a full kitchen this could be a little more clear in the description. Speightstown is the closest larger town and is a really great place with a very long history and a more historic look and some great places to eat and drink one of our favorites was the Orange Street Grocer.
We recommend this property for those seeking a quite stay away from the typical touristy beach scene.

It was a new experience having guests for six months. Previously we had a couple from British Columbia for two months. Bryce and Pat felt totally at home here. Our advice to them on places of interest and our therapeutic discussions (smile) proved very helpful. We thank them for their positive review which is a true reflection of their experience, and we wish them both the best of health and good luck.
