Had a really nice stay. Place was clean and well-stocked. Owner does a nice job of addressing what travelers need, such as a coffee/tea station with different flavors, sweeteners, etc. and plenty of multi-purpose charging stations. Location was perfect, a safe and quiet street that’s just a 2-3 minute walk to the main strip where all the restaurants and shops are.
We had a fantastic stay! The location was perfect—close to everything we needed and in a great neighborhood, close to downtown. The kitchen was very well-equipped, making it easy to prepare picnic food for our family reunion. The king bed was super comfortable and made for restful nights after busy days exploring. We also appreciated the modern bathroom and convenient laundry facility, which made our stay even more comfortable. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free experience!
We enjoyed the apartment. It’s conveniently located to the Twin Cities. The space is clean and tastefully decorated. Cute older quiet neighborhood. We weren’t bothered by the proximity to the train tracks but others might want to know. We’d stay there again.
I always check availability of this property every time I travel to MN. Great location and very comfortable. The price is more than reasonable when you consider what you are getting for the money. It’s actually less expensive for me to stay here vs. a hotel because I can make inexpensive meals instead of eating out multiple times a day.
The property is in a great location. Very clean and beautifully furnished! Do not hesitate to book here. We stayed in one unit and our friends were downstairs. It was a perfect venue for all of us to socialize and catch up!
Alissa’s place is absolutely perfect. My husband and I along with our dog came to Hastings for a fun getaway weekend! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while we explored the area. The VRBO was so clean and welcoming! My communication with the host was exceptional and she was super helpful during the booking process. The unit was a perfect size for us and in great proximity to a cute coffee shop and the historic downtown area.
Great, well provisioned property that had everything we needed plus some. A previous commenter mentioned the train and there were frequent train whistles, including late at night. This would not deter me from booking and staying here again.
Beautiful, updated, and cozy...a perfect place to stay!
Our family had a great two night stay at this house. the pictures are accurate - it's clean, updated, stocked with lovely coffee bar and nicely appointed kitchen. The washer and dryer were a bonus since we spent time skiing at Welch Village and had dirty and wet socks (etc). The bed was very comfy and the bedroom spacious with great windows. Our two kids used the pull out sofa and a blow-up mattress (we brought) and were happily rested. Great stay - thanks for making it fun. We would certainly come visit again!
Wonderful stay in this beautiful, clean, comfortable, spacious, well organized upstairs apartment. Loved the nostalgia with modern feel. Inviting from the start. Everything you would need in a great location. Alissa was pleasant and easy to work with. Highly recommended.
Bright, comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Nearby train yard was busy but not loud. (Property manager thoughtfully included a white noise machine in the bedroom, though we didn't need it.) Easy walk to some great meals in the historic downtown area and to the Hastings riverfront trail along the Mississippi. Will have to go back in the summer and explore some of their parks and the Laduc estate when that opens up for visitors!

Disliked: Location
Disappointed
The apartment was nice. However it was a block away from a railroad track, and the train would go forward and backward all times of the day including at 5:00 in the morning. Also a very loud motorcycle would start up very early. It advertised air conditioning, which it did not have because the window unit had not been installed.so we had to have windows open. It was not a quiet neighborhood. There was no mention in its advertisement

Response from VrboOwner on 21 Jul 2024
I am terribly sorry to hear this. I tried contacting you within an hour of you checking in because I found out the person we had lined up to install the ac units for the year did not get to it between your check in and the guests prior to you. I offered to come immediately and have them installed since it was a bit warmer than normal for that time of year. When you did not respond, I did not want to continue to bother you so I figured you were declining my offer. Come to find out you deleted the VRBO app upon checking in, so you never received my message and you unfortunately never let me know there was an issue. Please understand I always do whatever I possibly can to make sure anyone who stays with me is as comfortable as possible. I even had another unit open that has central air conditioning that I would have offered to you and your friend. From now on, please do all your future hosts a favor and be sure to let them know if there’s ever any kind of issue.
I would also like to note that I apologized to our other guests who stayed in the unit next to you those same two nights about the train and motorcycle noise since you mentioned it and we’ve never had noise issues before this, but they said there was non that they were aware of.
I apologize again that it was not quite the place you were looking for and did not meet your standards and I hope you and your friend are able to find someplace more suitable for you on your next getaway.
I am a stay at home mom of four and property manager of both long term and short term rentals. I strive for quality in management and essence of all of our properties and I am so excited to be able to offer a welcoming, comfortable space for you to stay in.
What makes this property unique
My husband and I fell in love with the history and character of this property. It was originally built in 1856 in a boom town that no longer exists called Nininger, Minnesota, which was a few miles up the river from Hastings. The building was then moved to Hastings to be used as a school only to be moved once again to its current location.
