This was our first visit to Galena.Staying in this delightful little yurt house amidst the woods was a special treat! The host has put so much care into this place: including the charming and detailed mcm decor, super comfy beds, plenty of nice fluffy towels (including a neatly stacked assortment near the door to the hot tub), marshmallow roasting sticks, corn & birdseed to feed the wildlife, fun relics (the 1970s Life magazine was a blast to look thru), an assortment of games, a truly small but mighty kitchen stocked with everything you need, and plenty of warm and friendly communication. You can tell she has put hear heart into this. Waking up inside this gem surrounded by the gorgeous views of the trees, we couldn't help but smile. Downtown Galena is a 10-15 min drive away, so easy access to all of the wonderful local shops and surprisingly fabulous restaurants. Lots of nature activities also within a short driving distance.We will definitely be back!!!

The hosts are amazing. Great communication and they really want you to experience a great stay. The house was just like the photos which isn’t always the case. The views were better than advertised and the beds are really comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. This is a great unusual escape.

Our stay at Galena Haven was fantastic! Our host was extremely kind and attentive for any information or questions. The property is beautiful and made for the most perfect, cozy stay. The location is great, quiet and secluded but easy to access from the center of town!

The house was the perfect size for the two of us and our dogs. It felt very private and was well kept.One note is the house is on an unpaved street, which made it difficult to go out walking on our trip as it rained a lot and even when it wasn’t the road was very muddy. Can’t control the weather though!

This place has many unique features. You can tell they spent time with all the little details like land line phones, glassware, and art. Overall cozy spot but has everything you need. I really enjoyed the fire pit and privacy. Lots of beautiful trees on the property and plenty of birds to see. Owner was a pleasure to correspond with. I would highly recommend this place for couples and families looking for a Galena getaway. Also Downtown Galena is fantastic! 10 to 15 min drive from the property.

Excellent stay for nature lovers

Loved the privacy of the house. The hot tub was fantastic. Check in was super easy. The house was adorable and decorated like a step back in time. The host is great!! She truly cared if her guests were enjoying their stay or if they had any problems.. pet friendly!!

Anniversary Trip

This retro cabin in the woods is the perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet outside of the main strip without being too far. We loved the unique feel of the place and the extra fun amenities. This place made “sitting at home during vacation” feel restful and fulfilling! This was our first time to Galena and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Wonderful

We were so impressed with the stay and how accommodating our host was. The house was so fun and unique and very homey!! We enjoyed the atmosphere of the woods and the privacy. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. It was perfect!

Best Galena Getaway Experience

It was such a great experience! We saw wild turkeys, chipmunks, and birds of all shapes and sizes. There was a total benefit to have passes for the Galena Territory. It was close to downtown Galena and close to other attractions Galena has to offer. The property is very quiet and clean. We will definitely be coming to this property again!!

We loved our stay here! The mid-century decor was so fun! There were so many cool little details to discover. Plus, the location was phenomenal! It was so private, and surrounded by trees and wildlife. We even saw a baby deer when we arrived. The hot tub was a great way to end a busy day, or to start one. And the Japanese soaking tub was a pretty neat experience as well. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, but not much space for storing non-refrigerated food that you bring. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hair dryer were provided in each bathroom. We were within 15-20 minutes of anywhere we wanted to go... shopping, restaurants, magic show, tours, pontoon rental, and the Alpine Slide. The fireplace was nice to relax around while playing games after a cool, rainy day out and about. Next time, I'd love to spend more time at the house enjoying nature while in the hot tub, or sitting by the fire pit.
