About the host
Hosted by Gable

Originally from Alaska, Dani attended Clemson University and met her husband Gable. We were married in 2014 with one requirement: We would go to Alaska every year. We settled into marriage in South Carolina, but Alaska is still a place we desired to call home. Legacy Home, is our home when we come "home." Dani's great grandparents (Bud and Theo Campbell) were original colonists whose items can be found in the Colony House museum.
Why they chose this property
We loved being in a quiet neighborhood close to the mountains while being so close to downtown, not to mention easy travel to Anchorage, Wasilla, and Talkeetna. Several easy to difficult hikes within a short drive, wonderful cafes, food, and walks to the river are perfect on sunny days.
What makes this property unique
Our house is situated perfectly for many day trips without the need to move locations. Anchorage is a not quite an hour away, Talkeetna+Denali flight tours are less than 2 hours, and even Seward is a day trip by car or train(3 hours). Hatchers Pass, Gold Mint Trail, and Independence Mine are 35 minutes away. Palmer is a hidden gem, often overlooked, and surrounded by beautiful mountains. We are situated between Matanuska trailhead and Lazy Mountain trailhead for hikers. For those desiring a shorter climb, we are only 5-7 minutes from Bodenburg Butte to get a bird’s eye view of the valley. Flight tours and zip lines are all close by as a well as some wonderfully unique gift shops that highlight the creativity of Alaskans. The state fair is in our town and only a 10 minute drive from our home. We love our location! We love our town!
