About this property

Brian Head's-Beautiful, Sunny and Spacious, Ski-In/Ski-Out Mountain Home

Get away from all the hustle and bustle. Come sit by a cozy fire while drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Bring friends and family on a fun vacation up to Brian Head, UT located in the heart of Southern Utah's most beautiful landscapes. Great for hiking, biking, fishing, photography, 4-wheeling, skiing, snowboarding, inner tubing etc. Come and experience one of the most memorable vacations.

Our beautiful, sunny and spacious cabin is located in paved neighborhood of Trails at Navajo. It is nestled in the trees on the Navajo slopes with ski-in ski-out accommodations. We have all the modern amenities that you enjoy at home including a well stocked kitchen, stainless steel appliances, a large sunlit family room, extra-long dining table for all your family and friends and a bonus basement with large flat screen TV with a large selections of movies.

Accommodations:
Our home is a 6 bedroom, 4 ¼ bath home with beds for 19. We also have 2 twin inflatables and a port-a-crib. We have plenty of sheets, blankets, pillows and towels so no need to fill your cars with these. We provide shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, soft soap, dishwasher soap etc.

Winter:
We recommend that you take advantage of the wonderful ski and snowboard instruction available at Brian Head especially the kids camp at the Navajo Resort. It is inexpensive and fun. The resort offers both group and private snowboard or skiing instructions. They have lift ticket and lesson packages. Go to Brian Head.com to make reservations ahead of time especially during the holidays. Please be aware there are 2 ski resorts connected by a bridge. Giant steps resort has the more advanced skiing. There are also 2 inner tube parks.

Unless you are purchasing a package, we prefer Georg's for equipment rental. They have it all including skis, snowboards, snowshoes, cross country equipment and winter clothing. Ask for the Harpster discount.

Spring/Summer/Fall:
The resort offers biking, hiking, 4 wheeling and fishing tours. On summer weekends in town there are several activities for the kids including alpine slide, zip line, climbing wall and bungee trampoline to name a few. There is also the new lake including a playground, basketball court, pickle ball court, picnic benches and fire pits. A short distance away is Cedar Breaks, Navajo Lake, Panguitch Lake and Bryce Canyon. We also enjoy the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City in the Summer and Fall. They offer a variety of professional plays and even have baby sitting available. Go to Bard.org for information. Cedar City Aquatic Park is worth the drive. It has multiple pools inside and out including a lazy river, giant slide, play equipment and much more.

We recommend that you drink LOTS of water on the way up. Sports drinks offering electrolytes are even better. The elevation of our home is 9,800 ft. The base at Giant Steps is 10,000 ft.

Food services are limited at Brian Head. Cedar City has a Smiths, Walmart and Lins for groceries. Parowan has a smaller store called Food Town. Please note it closes at 9:00 pm. There are also two small markets in Brian Head. They are a little pricey but great for forgotten items.

Most importantly…. Relax, enjoy, have fun and make yourself at home.........

We love this house for our annual ski trip

My sisters and I bring our families here every year and we love staying in this house. It's spacious, clean, and comfortable for our big group. The kids love having their own space in the basement complete with toys and an entertainment center. The owners are extremely helpful and responsive. We can't wait to book again for next year.

Serenity and Adventure!

This was our first time in Brian Head, and we loved it on so many levels. We hiked, visited Cedar Breaks Monument (breathtaking), rode Razrs, and “played” at the resort where they had activities for the kids. As for the rental, the cabin was absolutely amazing; clean, very spacious, excellent location. I would recommend this cabin to anybody wanting to visit and enjoy the beauty of this hidden gem resort!

Once again we had an amazing time. This cabin is roomy, cozy, beautiful, and amazing! We love it here! Super easy to get to and from the slopes. Kids said this is the only place they want to stay at Brian Head. Thanks again for the memories you've made possible for our friends and family. We will be back!

Fantastic time

We were very happy with our stay at this home in Brianshead. We had so much fun reuniting with family that we have not seen. The layout of the home was great and everyone was comfortable. The ski in ski out was perfect for us we had fun sledding around there too. Gwen was very accommodating and answered questions while we were there.

Nice place to stay

With the party of 8 adults and children from 3 to 19, we were able to play card games at the large dinning room table when the rains came. Lightening struck outside the Cabin and knocked out apple TV's and the Host/Owner came up the next day with replacements.

Great family ski trip

3 generations all had a great time. Ski out easier than ski in. The house was very comfortable for all of us. Seperate living room and TV entertainment room. Good spaces for different age groups to socialize.

Best Rental Ever

We loved this property last year when we stayed and we couldn't wait to stay there again this year. It felt like we were coming home. The cabin has been remodeled and is just perfect. The kitchen is fully equipped for a large group and has everything you need. The cabin is spacious, yet has several gathering areas. We loved staying here and plan to stay again next year. Gwen is wonderful to work with. Can't ask for a better owner.

A sure "re-visit" cabin!

The owners were quick to answer questions and help via text. The cabin was perfect. Completely stocked and ready for our group of 13. Enough beds and bathrooms. LOVED the dining table as all of us could fit around it at one time. The 12 inches of snow were a surprise the first of Oct. but their caretaker, Jeff, was right there to shovel, spread ice melt and help. Thank you for a great week-end.

Wonderful Memories Made

We spent our Christmas at Brian Head. Supplied the house with a Christmas tree for our grandchildren to have. Communication is a one with the property manager. This home is excellent for large groups or family. Plenty of room. We even left a credit card, and we were promptly called. We would recommend this property.

Lower level bedroom (with attached bathroom) chest of drawers were totally unuseable because when they were pulled out they would fall out. Same bedroom door was difficult to lock.

Best Cabin Ever

We loved staying in this beautiful cabin! We have made it our family vacation every year for the past 6 years and this was by far our favorite. The location was perfect, the cabin was so perfect for families, we actually had our three children and the grand kids - 14 total. We had a wonderful time. Gwen was exceptional to work with. Never have I stayed in cabin that provided, top grade body wash, shampoo and lotion. She went out of her way to make it a home away from home for us. All of us are looking forward to next year and hope to stay in this beautiful cabin. Could not have asked for anything better. Thanks Gwen you were an excellent hostess.

Excellent Beautiful Home Ski In Ski Out

We stayed for 8 nights with 13 people and we had way too much space! Bedrooms and bathrooms perfectly stocked. Kitchen has everything you need to feed everyone. This beautiful home had everything we needed to make a family vacation fabulous. The kids went sledding at the end of the cul de sac. If you are a beginner on the mountain no need to ski in and ski out as Navajo is super close. The owners are super responsive. As a an avid skier and someone who rents homes to ski, this property is on the top of our list. We will be back! Thank you for everything Gwen!

Perfect Ski House for Our Group

We had a great vacation. We were 3 families including 8 children ages 4-12 on Spring Break ski trip. The house layout includes two comfortable gathering areas to enjoy time together and large bedrooms for quiet time if needed. The kids really enjoyed the down stairs area with 2 bedrooms, rec room with comfy seating, television and a large selection of movies. The large dining room table allowed us to enjoy meals together. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. There were no surprises, everything was exactly as it says in the description. Due to late season conditions, we could not ski right up to the house, but it was only a short walk to the house. Brian Head is a great ski area. We all had so much fun. No major food stores near by, so bring what you need. However, there is a country market a short distance from the house that has most anything that you may forget or decide you need at the last minute. The Grand Lodge, just down the street, has a restaurant and nice lounge/bar area upstairs. I highly recommend this home. We will be back next year and will stay here again. We really enjoyed the responsiveness of the owners. Easy to communicate with; nice people. Can't wait until next year.

Large, fully stalked home nestled in the trees

My group stayed in this lovely home over President’s weekend. Gwen was extremely friendly and informative before and during our stay. She must have performed quite a snow dance so that we could have lots of snow for our visit! Thanks Gwen! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 3 families (6 adults and 7 kids). Everything was fully stocked and in great working order. The kitchen has any gadget you might need, and lots of spices/condiments. It’s also large enough to have several people helping out. The dining table sat our whole party together, which was really great. The upstairs sitting room was a great room to escape the kids, but not as comfortable as the downstairs tv room with plush couches and cozy beanbags! The smart tv with surround sound was put to good use! At first I thought the beds were ultra-firm but they were extremely comfortable. One person in our group was allergic to the down comforter, but there was an abundance of blankets to choose from so she just switched it out. The showers worked great- good size, good pressure, even temperature, plenty of hot water and plenty of towels. The washer and dryer both worked perfectly. The home is located just off lift 4. It’s a little tricky to find when trying to ski in, and requires a bit of a trek. We spent several hours playing in the snow just outside the home. There’s lots of room for sledding and snowball fights. It snowed the day we left and Jeff came out to shovel the driveway and help us get out. We had a wonderful time in this gorgeous home and would definitely stay again!

About the host

Hosted by Gwen Harpster

Host profile image
We both love to ski, snowshoe, atv and hike so Brian Head was the perfect choice for us. Utah is a great escape from the crowds in CA. Living at the beach in California has spoiled us with cool summer weather. We also find cool temperatures in Brian Head in the summer. It's always a debate whether we like summer or winter better in Brian Head. Summer is great but it's hard to beat fresh powder and a sunny day with friends and family. We currently have 9 grandkids who love coming up the mountain to ski, tube, hike, fish and of course play with Grandpa and Grandma.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to Brian Head for more than 25 years. It is such a great, affordable family place in summer as well as winter. Since we enjoyed it so much, we decided to buy our own home. We instantly loved this house as soon as we walked in the front door. Just like our ad says, It is bright, sunny and spacious. We really appreciate the views from every window. Also, the layout was perfect for our family and friends. Plenty of room to be together or to spread out.

What makes this property unique

We love the fact that our home is in a paved neighborhood with city water and sewage. It can get really muddy reaching some of the properties in Brian Head.
