My mom and I spent the weekend here and absolutely loved our stay. We were in the area to hike and eat some yummy local foods. This place was perfect for a quiet getaway where we were able to relax, go hiking, watch movies and go out to some local brewery and pubs. It had all the amenities needed, even some yoga mats to stretch after hiking all morning. Perfect for A quiet hiking getaway

The house was clean but several features as pictured did not work. Lights in living room and toilet handles did not work. The one shower head was held together by duck tape and the sink didn't drain well in that bathroom. Overall it was not a VRBO we would recommend in the future.
We stayed here for three nights to go hiking in the area with friends. First, the positives: The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood, a short drive to town and not far from Starved Rock and other parks. Check-in was smooth and the house is nicely decorated and seemed clean. Unfortunately, there were a lot of issues that should have been addressed before renting it out: There were a lot of ants in the kitchen. There were problems with doors not opening/closing properly, a shower head that was held in place with plastic grocery bags, a broken dining room chair, and multiple bags of garbage in the garage. There were other less significant issues that I won’t mention. Also, the listing states it will accommodate 6 people. I don’t see how, as there are only two beds and 4 dining room chairs, one of which was broken! I’m very reluctant to leave a negative review, but I can’t recommend this place in its current condition.

While pretty clean, it was advertised to accommodate six people. We had four adults, and there was dining seating for only 3. Dish wear for 4 maximum, but only two bowls. We had to purchase our own spices/pepper, which isn’t a huge deal. Both beds were very uncomfortable due to assembly issues. Dishwasher contained dirty dishes upon arrival, and the second/spare bathroom was not stocked with towels nor did it look to have been cleaned after the last use.Communication with host was good, location was awesome and as advertised.
